Farke has said he knows the nature of managing in the EPL with the extreme pressure and the threat of the sack ramped up by every result good or bad and he's paid handsomely and if results go poorly and is dismissed would receive a few million in compensation plus he'd not be short of managerial offers commanding another decent salary so I personally don't get too emotionally hung up or angry or feel sorry for DF if he is given the boot after West Ham or a couple of weeks later.
I also don't buy into the idea that there isn't someone who could do better with the squad we have and guide us to safety but it's whether our owners can get them that concerns me and we end up with a Russell Martyn or another cheap option that isn't any better than Farke.
So it's game by game now and with that threat of dismissal hanging over Farke's head even more so it would seem after Burnley it might bring out the fight or flight survival instincts in him and he not only inspires his side to win tomorrow but keeps chipping away and sticking around grinding out results that dont give the owners any just cause to fire him which defeat tomorrow I think will whether some on here want to face that uncomfortable truth or not there are plenty of social media rumours flying around to suggest this but for the time being I expect and feel optimistic of a win against West Ham so a stay of execution for Daniel this week at least.

Some fans just overstate what a manager can do in my opinion. Farke puts us in position to win games every week, the fact we haven't is down to a lack of quality in key positions. Sure maybe he could be more adventurous, try more with his subs. But there's no evidence that would make a difference. It's just hunches from people. They might be right, might not be.
We were expected to be relegated by the bookies before a ball was kicked. We're not in the relegation zone now.
The time to seriously consider replacing a manager is when the team looks beaten, is getting rolled over without a fight. That time may come, because we bust a gut every week and if we dont get the rewards confidence will go and losing can become a habit. But the idea that someone can wave a magic wand and improve DCLs finishing, morph us into prime Barcelona overnight? It's not happening.
Let me give an example. Do I think Bielsa is a better manager than Marsch. Yes. MB was amazing for us. Do I think we were right to sack Bielsa when we did? Sadly, yes. Because that team was done... 20+ goals conceded in a month, and his only answer was to flog them harder, becaue that's his make-up. Any change was going to bring some relief.
Do I think we were right to sack Marsch? No, certainly not when we did it. We were actually playing with fight and had been really unlucky in the previous games.
Unless you have a squad that is underperforming for its talents and/or an exceptional manager waiting in the wings, sacking a manager is folly.

I just hope they do not start their comeback tomorrow as we are well known for being very charitable to teams which are on terrible runs.

Agree with that. Some managers can drag out more from players (i.e. Bielsa), but eventually that catches up or opposition suss them out and work round tactics.
Farke can only do the job with the resources. I actually don't think he's doing that bad so far. Sunderland seem to have signed good players (always liked Xhaka at Arsenal), but they'll likely see a dip in results as the season goes on.
Tomorrow night isn't make or break for me, unless they were to properly turn us over. I'm just looking forward to a pre-match beer, choc brownie and good match.

There are always other managers and different systems and out of form players. And we can always comment wisely with hindsight.
Farke has performed well in the past two seasons but are his limitations beginning to outweigh his strengths? That’s the big question for me.

We weren't picking players from the top table of options. Paixao went elsewhere as i reckon he didn't fancy a lower half/relegation struggle with us, as opposed to Monaco (was it?). I don't blame him in truth.
Be good to get a result tonight - but the season isn't over if we don't. Just applying pressure to matches too soon.

Strange comment Farkey
You pick the caveat from a post in a thread where I’m arguing the case for not sacking a manager amongst a sea of posters who think differently.
Then you give examples of managers who were given time and went on to be a success?? You’re making my point for me, thanks!
I provided a couple of exceptions to the rule but would have thought it was pretty obvious (clearly not!) that I think managers should be given time to get their ideas across and a few windows to recruit to their needs… before applying those exceptions.
So no… I wouldn’t have sacked Ferguson, arteta or frank - but it’s clear a chunk of other posters on here would have done. And they’re entitled to think it’s time for Farke to go. All opinions innit

If Sunderland are doing better, recruited better - time will tell and i'm not really bothered in truth. They had the economics they were working to, we had our own. No one knows the picture on that. I think we've gambled on some of recruitment, hoping some find form and retain fitness.

‘Unless you have a squad that is underperforming for its talents and/or an exceptional manager waiting in the wings, sacking a manager is folly.’
By your reasoning, Milky, Man U should have gotten rid of Ferguson after his first season, Arsenal should have got rid of Arteta and what would you have done after Thomas Frank won just one of his first ten games wit Brentford?
There are always other managers and different systems and out of form players. And we can always comment wisely with hindsight.
Farke has performed well in the past two seasons but are his limitations beginning to outweigh his strengths? That’s the big question for me.
