2.50 Haydock - Prince of Burma

Impressed me on debut when finishing a respectable 5th despite having no clue what to do for pressure, clearly improved on that performance when hacking up last time out having been hammered in the market. Makes his handicap debut today off 80 which in my opinion is a nice enough mark as this horse has a lot of potential. Type of horse John Gosden excels with and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see this horse contesting much better races later on in the season. 7/2

3.25 Haydock - Johnny Castle (NAP)

Again another John Gosden horse and this is mt NAP for today. Finished runner up in three maidens in his juvenile campaign, but was unlucky to bump in to some decent horses. On debut he was unlucky not to beat the now 90 rated Star Surprise, he was given an easy ride and the winners experience allowed him to hold on by a neck. He then bumped in to Jehanbux, again going down by a neck. That one won off 86 on his reappearance and looks a nice prospect. On his final start he was beaten by Blue Tigers Eye (rated 88) that horse had been beaten in to 2nd by Codemaster (won off 96 on Saturday) Blue Tigers Eye was dissapointing on his final start but also slightly unlucky. Overall I feel Johnny Castles form is very solid and a mark of 80 could be lenient. The 11/2 looks a nice enough price.

I must say I do not think he will get away with going from the front like that against the likes of Canford Cliffs. Obviously I agree with his performance in the guineas but they were closing towards the line (as expected after going that quick) Canford has so much speed himself I could see him getting up close home if Queally rides Frankel like he did in the guineas
