Spain is different to us when it comes to racism. I remember watching England at the Bernabeu a few years back and Shaun Wright-Philips was appalling treated by the crowd. They should have been banned from the next international tournament for that.
Okay, take Evra and Suarez out of the situation, for what is alleged, I'd say a 12 month ban.

Busquets got away with it and there was pretty much conclusive evidence. As said above, in Spain (and most Latin countries) racism is quite common.
Taking the players involved out of consideration I cannot see a 12 month ban, especially with grounds for appeal. Some sources claim that Sky have no footage that supports the claims, so on appeal it could be around 6-7 months.
This comes under something known as the ''The boy that cried wolf''. I wrote an article on it.
This is the 4th occasion that Evra has thrown the racism card. I reckon and this is my theory, that Ferguson put him up to it.
Ferguson has three ways of doing things. If he can't beat him, he signs him, if he can't sign him, he will do everything in his power to get him suspended ie Javier Mascherano at Old Trafford a few years back.
This won't come to anything, as Sky have proven with the use of microphones and lip-readers that Suarez did not racially abuse Evra. Evra is the one facing a punishment, and about time too, if he had to been punished on the other three occasions, he wouldn't do it.
Anfield,
I agree, however, in the match I referred to in the original article, I'm sure they had footage of Busquets covering his mouth and saying something incredibly close to 'mono' (I'm no expert in lip reading, mind).
Yet he escaped punishment, Martin Kelly has a point with that, I too remember that game so would it be fair that, hypothetically, Suarez is caught on camera and gets a 12 month ban but, had he said the exact same thing in a foreign league, would've gone unpunished? Surely that would spark outrage.
Luis Suarez
That comment can and will turn a sensible debate into an argument.

No it's not, you complete idiot.
twinkletoes,
For the article's sake I'll ignore the accusations on Fergie of directly invoking false accusations of racism.
However, with regard to the 'boy who cried wolf' bit, this is about the 12th time I've seen this on similar articles, could you tell me when he has done this in the past? Okay, I'm never gonna remember every bit of United related news but I'm sure I'd remember something like that?!

I think everybody should just ignore this clown, why people make up lies I do not understand.

He's accused Chelsea staff of racially abusing him,he's accused Steve Finnan of it, he's done so on International duty and he's done so again so, thats four occasions.
So therefore its ''The boy that cried wolf''. He's lying through his teeth, he should get a lengthy ban, and Liverpool should sue Man United for a fortune, that will stop Evra from even thinking about doing it again.
If found true and I say if, then a season long ban..

Suarez has bitten opponents and got sent off for thinking he was a goalkeeper at the world cup, hardly an angel himself.
If Evra is lying he should get a 2 year world-wide ban for compulsive lying and Liverpool should sue Manchester United for an 8 figure sum.

You have already been proved to be incorrect with these statements today.
Do you think that if you keep saying it, it will be true?
Don't listen to him. He has got what he wanted by provocation. This was a sensible debate. In Suarez's defence though, none of the actions listed above have taken place since he joined Liverpool.
twinkletoes,
I wish to direct your focus to the headline story on BBC's football page.
Fergie clearly states he does not want to hold Liverpool responsible. It is a personal matter.
Evra was never proved guilty of 'lying' (in all honesty I only recall the Chelsea one and the international one).
In the Chelsea instance, it was after the game so no one except those present really know what went on.
With regard to the internationals, that camp was horribly messed up so I wouldn't like to place blame or false allegations on any of the parties involved.

Evra is no angel but look at Suarez's background..I can see Suarez saying it and im sure you can see Evra telling porkies...sadly Suarez isnt the first and wont be the last..I believe he did say something but finding evidenc will be tricky...It will effect Suarez more than Patrice though..that I am for sure

Yes but so did Ronaldo and so does Drogba. Its not a unique label. I'm hoping the birth of his daughter has had an effect on his behaviour and that this is a misunderstanding.
