I agree with all that you say.
Football is crazy! One week we are arguing about relegation, the next we are going to win the league and this week we're not good enough again!
We clearly aren't going to do a Newcastle or a qpr and consistently dominate the league from start to finish. we will win a lot and lose a few and draw some too, and we will be in contention for top six come the end of the season I'm sure.
Win lose or draw this squad at the moment is NOT good enough for promotion IMO. Failure in the summers transfer market was the key to failure.
I'm in agreement with Revie, but go one stage further by saying we should have brought in a player or 2 back in January. We would have had a chance of being in the prem now, as we were in the top 6 all last season. Everyone knew this season was going to be harder with West Ham, Leicester and Ipswich spending and having decent managers. Then compounding the problems by not spending this summer, only leaves us with a team capable of mid-table again. Norwich spent next to nothing and breezed up last year, so don't tell me it can't be done. Norwich brought in a couple of quality players in january and look at them now
Yes I agree Doc,we should have gone up last season had we strengthened in january. IMO should have won the league.
Doc, Revies spot on but we all know that decent investment in the team isnt going to happen and we know why.
You ask would I have taken this position at the beginning of the season.
Were in 11th I predicted we'd be 12th so were pretty much bang in according to where I said we'd be.
the performances over the last few weeks have shown we can be a major force in this league, it's all about consistency!
but hey ho, we're unbeaten in 6 and won 4 of them!
Good article
Only problem with your reasoning is that Grayson does not seem to learn from his mistakes - or maybe guys like Adkins and Holt don't make as many.
Also, why do so many of our players improve once they leave us?
