not thrilled by many of that lot...perhaps we should be looking at some european players..or africans...or south americans...koreans...chinese...martians...anyone.....

We don't need to look abroad, it's expensive for a League One club to have a scouting network abroad. Brighton did it because Poyet is Uruguayan and already had contacts, Clarks contacts stretch as far as Newcastle so it's not going to happen.

The players we need to get us out of this league are already at the club and none of them are South American. I'd be tempted by Bowyer and Fagan from that list though...

Danny Webber would get goals in our league as well

John Carew, if we want to continue hoof ball, he is about the biggest player on the list, but Eidur Gudjohnsen, Marlon Harewood are no shorties either..........as for the rest there are good reasons why they are on the free list, most of them should be on the retired list

A good few of them are better than what we have, and probably out of our reach. Most are on the free list as their clubs just got relegated....

where's LC at the moment...oh, on the beach with head in sand no doubt.?

We're dreaming going after most of those players. Carew? Gudjonsson? Bowyer? Larsson? Etc etc. Not a chance. The only ones we stand a chance with are the ones who had big promise but have fallen from grace, or ones who are over the hill and/or just past it e.g. Kilbane

I found this the other day which is quite good it tells you the source & reality vote and is generally quite a tidy site......

MARK HUDSON..
i remember watching him play 3 games for town in a row, where he was the only player giving 100%, he got into the opponents box albeit missing the chances and made a great number of interceptions and tackles that saved town losing by more..
he got slated by the "fans" as he was the only visible player town had..
i dont think he was a great player but given the above, the grief he got was unfounded..

His cross/shot freekick away at Bradford will live ling in the memory... He used to come into our local with his parents and he was a top bloke.

hudson never hid..
we had a team that hid a lot and got rid of the ball so they could continue to hide..
he wanted to play and wanted the ball whilst the rest wandered about hoping to go unnoticed..
however good/bad he was, we certainly needed a couple who had his attitude the other week..

it also appears the town management want a home game first so the fans can "really thank" the team/management for the superb season last year..and "get behind the lads in the first game"...

clackers and t shirts???????

we had a "superb" day out at old trafford, posh went to play football.. summat wrong with our "aims and values"??? possibly..

As long as we keep winning things like "best programme" and "family club of the year", the club will continue to think we're on the right track. Get things right on the pitch first then worry about everything else.

agreed..
just think how many family tickets, junior terriers we could sell if we had got promoted..
there wouldnt be enough face painters in yorkshire to do them all..

my advice is to scrub the free t shirts and the car stickers etc and fully concentrate on getting the team and the tactics right..
im all for dean selling the club as with the wage cap all revenue is good revenue but the only thing that counts is promotion and this promoting a " happy, family friendly-its about taking part and everyone enjoying themselves club" hasnt worked.. neither did all the hype about buying seats and well make you jump out of them.. suggest we just try a more softly softly approach and keep each game in perspective..

It made me jump out of me seat a few times last season , I was out of the ground in my car on st andrews rd be4 5 o'clock sometimes .

Who's Pries??

There are some really good players on the list,no doubt Clark will have his own ideas of who he wants to bring in,so we'll just wait and see.

Koumas for me too,
The "Palace" Mark Hudson was a smashing centre half a couple of years ago, I dont know where he left for, Nor what has happened to him, But he was bloody good.

Pries = pires = blast my chubby digits!

The "real" Mark Hudson is at Cardiff - played 40 times for them last year. Was captain till Craig Bellamy rocked up.
