Jonty... again your comments about the chairman... now, Leeds are doing well yes? - if you don't think so that's a different thing.. but lets say you actually think Leeds are doing well so far this season..... ok, so how would spending money improve us, or do you think the transfers / sellings of players is actually good business?

personally, I thought the same, Bates has no ambition, why aren't we offering money to other clubs for thier players... but now, sitting pretty as we are I have conceded that Bates / SG sat down and talked about the squad for this season? - and came up with the right answer...

you know what you meant Jonty... results / league positions are often a sign of ambition of the club / chairman, wasteful spending sceams bad business... something we can't accuse Mr Bates of.

when in L1 we bought players from rivals teams, we were always striving for promotion.. now, in the ccc, we finished 7 in the first year, and look as though we could better this year... is that not ambitious enough or should we have spent loads of money on players like Leicester, currently behind us in the ccc...

The way he conducts himself, he does business etc........anyway we digress. May be Jonty any given manager who takes over at a new club needs the guarantee of funds available, I think Larry forgave that as he was offered his dream job

It seems liek Leicester are loking for a quick promotion and in that case I'd be looking for a manager with experience of getting promotion from this league.


Mccarthy, Keane, Jewell even Peter Reid are folk who have achieved that, but to find the right one who has done it, done it recently, and would be amenable to move to Leicester is a tougher ask.

I'm still plumping for a mid-table spot by May, as don't think we're strong enough. We look good on paper at the minute, but if the posh game had been different we would be back down the table. Only a couple of points are the difference between top 6 and 12th. We scrape 3 points tonight we're top 2, but still only a few points from mid-table. Theres still plenty of good teams who#ll come up on the rails, and had fester scraped a draw instead of getting beat, Sven would still be on target, and in fact they are still on target now

Never forget fester, Ipswich, Cardiff or even Brighton, besides the teams already in the top 6
