Clark 2/5 with skybet.....

Everyone knows that im a clark fan, but why cant he just say I am not interested rather than say it would be hard to walk away from...... which suggests to me that he fancies it.

Clark obviously fancies it, he changed his tune massively in the space of 72 hours. Nobody can blame him if he's interested, he's got no real affiliation with us and he'd be on a lot more money with them. He can't say he isn't interested because then they might not speak to him, he can't say he is interested because then if he doesn't get it he looks like a nob.

he fancies any percieved "step up"..
pilkington made a "step up", peltier made a mistake..
thats football..at least peltier will get paid more whilst his mistake sorts itself out..
so many lower league footballers have a go at the big time too quickly..
managers are just the same..

apart from the odd coaching badge there are no actual qualifications required..being successfull isnt a direct route to the top and being rubbish at a few clubs in a row does not appear to preclude you from getting another high profile position..
im afraid it says a lot for leicester when martin o neil wouldnt even consider it.. maybe the money isnt really there??, maybe the owners are looking for a quick return??
maybe someone would like a managers job that will last more than a few games where it does not go right straightaway???
some clubs have the history and fan base that means it has to go right, leicester are not one of them, its a poisoned chalice...

the only other point i would make is that managers under contract should be able to go and speak to other clubs, after permission is given by their host club.. difference i would have as chairman is to say " no problem lee, you go and speak with leicester, but your jobs not here for you when you come back".. might put a bit of pressure on the interview???
contracts are not worth the paper they are written on, but actively seeking employment elsewhere may certainly be a very good reason to terminate one..

Maybe he wants go to so he's not stuck in League 1 with Huddersfield for the rest of his managerial careeer.

Clarky has no intenetion of leaving Town because he's not daft and knows which side his bread is buttered, plus he has one of the best bosses around and why would he want to go to a club like Leicester who have gone through 11 managers on the past 10 years, where the pressure for instant success will be sky high.

Personally, I will be surprised if Leicester even make an official approach to speak to him, although his agent will no doubt be keen to keep the pot boiling in the hope that he can eke an improved contract out of Deano for his client, plus all the current publicity for Town keep us in the headlines, which I'm sure Deano won't mind.

If I were a betting man I'd put my money on Mark Hughes being appointed the new Leicester manager by Wednesday at the latest.

Owls... Thats only another 6 months then. Trouble is thats at YOUR expense.

I don't think anyone actually thinks he has the required CV or credentials to land the job, no higher league experience and no actual successes to his name. The Leicester fans are fuming that someone like Clark (3 years no promotion with unlimited funds) is even being considered for the post, and I would be just as mad if it were us looking to bring someone in from League 2 who'd achieved nothing.

As for him not being interested, come off it. It's clear to all that he's very interested and is leaving the door open for them to come and make an approach. He might only leave if Dean gives his blessing, but he'd be off in a heartbeat if they offered him the job, and good on him if they want to treble his wage.

I have also heard Mark Hughes.

Mirf i love your positivity but regarding Clark you are blind. The man would not give you, me, Deano a second thought if he got offered this job.

Luckily i don't think he will leave because so far in his career in management he has been a failure. Hopefully he will put that right with us this season and he can then expect some actual job offers not just his name in the paper.

Not when you get a shi*e manager in!

I seen Clark at the training ground with Dean and they looked happy together chatting away like .

have to agree with you 38....once he says he wants to speak to them that would be it for me! go but dont come back even if you dont get the job!...they are highly paid and should have a bit of respect for their employers..

It could be Clark just trying to make himself look self important . He has know intention of leaving this grat club. all he is doing is saying look at me turning clubs down to stay here, you fans dont know how lucky you are to have me here .

im not bothered either way..
if he isnt going anywhere i sincerly hope that saturdays performance isnt indicative of a change of approach to away games..
we made chances at scunny and we were at least positive for good periods of the game, i cant for the life in me work out what we were trying to do at yeovil..
the opposition certainly have some say in how the game goes but we had no shape, no support for the strikers or widemen and the full backs were static to say the least..
I cant even put that all down to p clarkes instructions on the pitch, it must have been discussed beforehand or at least at half time..
we did very little in an attacking sense but they looked as ropey as sh-te anytime we got it down their end but had no one there to make it pay..

I just dont understand it!!!! they had lost 5 home games before we turned up and we were just playing it out for a draw before the goal, it was the first time a central midfield player had got that close to their goal in open play!!!

We think we are one of the favourites, the unbeaten run certainly shows that we should be favourites, we were playing the bottom of the league and our confidence should be so high, but its not, why!!!!???

Booothy,

41 games undefeated, a feat only bettered by three other clubs in the entire history of the English game and you say "so far his career in management has been a failure"

If that's failure, who cares about success?

I don't rate the bosses at leicester to be fair...
I mean who in their right mind would have employed the joke manager Sven in the 1st place. He's been sacked in every job without any success since he left Lazio nearly 12 years ago. Other than the Lazio success he did nowt before that either.....He's a failure, that got lucky with credit really going to Tord Grip....
But why did Leicester take him on.....because they are obviously cluesless...
And that's what worrying me, I think they're stupid enough to steal Lee Clark from us, while he's still got so much to learn....
Lee Clark's advisers will be telling him to go, so they can line their own pockets in the short term, but he would be on the dole before May unless Leicester got promotion...That's a racing certainty......

Lee Clark needs to stay with us to continue in his learning curve which will eventually nurture him in to eventually being one our countries best managers, along side Rednap & Warnock.....UTT

Myth , mirf which 3 clubs? Arsenal 49 , Forest 42, Town 41. If we avoid defeat on Saturday we will jointly hold the football league record with Forest.

Agents are the bloomin trouble makers here...they set it all up, do all the promoting and release all this stuff to the media...They are just after their 15% commission...thats how they live, like blood suckers

Test away mirf! did you guess the year this morning?

posted on 31/10/11

Mirf, Clark has been given one and only one goal to achive in this job.

It has nothing to do with unbeaten runs, making friends (thankfully for him), or anything else. Promotion is what Deano and the rest of us want, anything else, i couldn't care less. Once he has achived it, and i think he will, then he can claim success, until then and while we perform like we did Saturday, he has achived nothing.
