If any of those 3 players named are worth those fees, then Modric is certainly worth at least £35m. He has played in a World Cup Finals Tournament & also Euro Championships Finals. In fact after Euro 2008, Modric was selected in the Team of The Competition.

None of those 3 have played at that level & indeed both Jones & Henderson are not exactly showing quality in the current Euro U-21 tournament.

Modric was named Bosnian and Herzegowinian League Player of the Year while still only 18 years old.
This in a league which has the reputation of being the most physical & intimidating league in Europe!

And no-one is really worth £40 - £50m but in football terms, if Henderson is worth £20m, Modders is easily worth £40m, as he is twice the player Henderson is right now.

Hence, if Henderson, an average midfielder from an average team, is worth £20m, then a world class player, proven at CL level & international level, ie. Modric, is clearly worth about £40m. Anyone who would put Modric & Henderson on par in terms of value are either:

1) Ridiculously biased
2) Stupid
3) Deluded
4) All of the above
