One thing it does show is how far we have come in this country inside football grounds to stamp it out, contrast this to spain where monkey chants and other obscenities are a regular occurrence at games, but is it any wonder when their national team players get away with it on the field of play, even when they are caught doing so on camera.

BK with all due respect CFC can't be held responsible for every fan, if indeed he was our fan, from chanting abuse. They also cannot know in advance what some others will sing. They can only react which is what they are doing. CFC have gone to great lengths to get rid of the sc*m but we are going in the right direction. Other clubs have a lot to learn from our stance on racism and drug taking.

Fair play to the fan standing next to him, who e-mailed Gourlay himself about the incident. Most others would have just left it I suppose

It disgust me that, despite me desperately wanting to, I can't afford to go and see my team Chelsea every week and someone who does makes a disgusting comment about a player, let alone one playing for his team.

Exactly, but what I don't understand is that these people were in a selective area designated for exec & sponsorship fans. As such I would have thought it would be simple to identify a person by seat number especially as he was middle-aged and dressed in a suit, as well.

My problem is why would an away CFC fan be wearing a suit?

The reason I said it at the time was because he used the word "monkey" which is genrally used on the continent and not in England.

The idiot who racially abused Sturridge could have been a fan of any club.

All clubs have idiot fans. This guy could just have easily supported Arsenal.

Can't comment on what Suarez said. However that was on the field of play in full view of the cameras. But this racism issue is, I know, getting out of hand and will have to be addressed before it ruins the game.

SF when this was first reported I thought it was a Genk fan. Same colours, blue and white. Dressed in a suit, must be local etc. etc.

TBF if it was in a box then chances are the person reporting it was aware of the fans nationality/team supported and would have made that known when reporting it to Chelsea FC.

I despise these sanctimoneous articles with their sweeping generalisations.

What's this? More unsavoury issues surrounding Chelsea???? But they are such a classy club how can that be??
