Are you giving up??

How does giving up equate to having an opinion as to where the team you support will finish in the league?

Dr Carneiro
At the start of the season there was a lot of talk winning the league, now there is talk about not maintaining a top 4 place.
Either some of you are giving up or you are now setting your sights/standards lower, all very negative and un Chelsea like.

Certainly not giving up. Just being realistic about our chances.

Of course we could still win the league although it would require both City and Utd to suffer a major dip in form and for us to go a long winning streak.

I think that the competition has never been tougher for a top four finish so we need to make sure we finish top four and if we happen to win the title in the process then great although I won´t be holding my breath.

We'll come good, we've had a blip the last three seasons - & got over it it's just earlier this term.

One thing looks a certainty though - anyone ahead of City will be Champions
As for the rest....it'll be a bun fight

I think you need to look up the term ´giving up´ in the dictionary.

I also don´t agree there was a lot of talk from Chelsea fans about winning the title. Some fans for sure, but not the majority.

And revising targets upwards or downwards is called realism.

I think you need to look up the term ´giving up´ in the dictionary.

Followed by the term "winding up".

Now come on red, a defeat can have that effect on fans, remember how badly you all felt when "The noisy neighbours" ripped you a new one the other week, didnt it put a dent in your dreams for the season.

How do you sit with the fact that the neighbours are going to oust you from your perch as it were, and may well keep you off it for many years to come.

You must be feeling the same way that Spurs fans were when Arsenal went undefeated in the league all those years ago.

Just imagine if City emulate that feat too, it will be like rubbing a cheese grater over your bell

My word I was only basing my opinion on what I have read, and its very un-Chelsea like, no need for a dictionary for that.

So are you saying is that if your been realistic Chelsea aint as good as people first thought this season, so therefore you need to rivise your targets.

This article wasn't meant as a wind up, but never mind eh.
On City stuffing us it hurt yes but I never sat back and thought that the title had gone, and if they go unbeaten then fair play to them.

Bluddy hell mate, didn't you ?? You must be a member of a very exclusive club then.

I watched them swat you away like so many irritating flies and thought, "Thats Uniteds title hopes up the swanee".

Then I looked at their playing staff and thought, "This mob could thump anyone, but United fans must be hurting like a thrice divorced woman at a Catholic school reunion" it was that shamefull.

I don´t think either of us are qualified to speak with accuracy about other people´s views on Chelsea at the start of the season.

I can speak with certainty about my own view which was that we would finish 3rd or 4th.

Now I am less certain about that view and do see an increasing risk we might not finish in the top 4.

We had a very bad day, as you do from time to time, we have been stuffed before and still won the league its still early days, look at the the way Chelsea started last season and didn't someone say we will have it won by Xmas, then look what happened and the rest is history as is the 1-6 thrashing.

If City stay involved in the CL, then I still think United have a decent shout, but they are the only team that can beat City to the title.

City have a big test of fixtures coming up with a mixture of tough CL,CC and PL games...........it will be interesting to see how they come through it.

If however they are still averaging 2.8 points per match after playing 20 PL games then I just can´t see anyone catching them.

I agree with you on that mate, I know it may look unlikely but they may have a bad couple of weeks, and you know what the pressure is like when your closing in on the title for the 1st time in many years.

No, you are right, sod it, I am off to support Man City as they seem to be the best bet for some glory.
I only started supporting Chelsea in 03' for the guarantee of some silverware and was Manu up until then. Before that I was Liverpool until they became crap in the early 90's.
