I'd blame the fudging carrot in charge!
Rovers have won 3 of their last 26 premiership games (11%)
-------------
Talking of a positive 'spin', kean's overall win percentage with rovers is 18.18%
#getthefactsright
Jason Roberts is 1 away from his 25th goal for the club
--------------------
and actually he's approaching his 28th goal FOR THE CLUB i.e. in all comps
I suspect Mr Pie is quoting from Auntie that's ad oculos
Sorry but you're incorrect win percentage is indeed 11% or 11.5% rounded up to 12 if we are being really pedantic
(Hoping my mental arithmetic has not let me down or will look a plum)
The two different percentages relate to two different statistical facts. One is the 3 wins in 26, and the other is the number of wins in however many PL games (I do not recall) Kean has been in charge.
Be careful when provoking data Mr Wow.
Dusty, the argument is based on the initial statement:
Rovers have won 3 of their last 26 premiership games (11%)
Arguing a different statistic simply proves that you can make stats say anything (apart from How good a manager Mr Kean is )
In the Last 3 Premiership Games SK has failed to win 100% of them
In the Last 4 Games (All Comps) SK has only lost only 25% of them
Lies, damn lies and statistics
the only number that matters is how many points we have. When they were gained, how they were gained, etc. is totally irrelevant, that is the ONLY number that matters. (don't get pedantic about Goal difference for ties etc. )
What's interesting is similarities with '96, a well respected coach promoted to manager, and our slide down the table?
I wasn't saying that his 2 in 26 stat was incorrect. i was trying to make the point that he chose that statistic over kean's overall PL record of 18.18% in order to show him in the worst possible light
No, Pie didn't choose that he quoted Auntie
I'll chose some: (Premier League only, that's all that counts, ask Birmingham if they would have swapped!)
Last 3 = 0% that better?
Last 7 = 0% Nope still no better
This Season = 8% That's more like it eh!
Points instead for Fairness:

Great stuff isn't it.
End of Season = 25 points
".Lies, damn lies and statistics..."
Indeed.
Both stats are right. I wasn't contesting your points MJ, merely trying to point out what you also eventually pointed out.

Better than Derby at least
4 points from safety is the most worrying stat for me. Thats after only 12 games, even Ince only managed to be 5 from safety after 17 games. We'll probably be 6 or 7 from safety by then and it'll take someone better than Allardyce to save us. Does such a manager exist with regards to small, skint clubs in trouble?
Before we talk about "runs" and "difficult games"
We have played 7 of the top 10: 5L 1D 1W = 4pts
We have played 5 of the bottom 9: 2L 3D 0W = 3pts
Please also lets forget 'luck', 'Ifs', 'ands' and 'buts' two Own goals courtesy of Arsenal given us almost 50% of our points tally this season.
(Sorry Dusty, wasn't having a go, I misread wow's change of the stat, thought he was correcting a % rather than offering a different one, I instantly am amazed when anyone tries to use facts and figures in defence of SK, its simply impossible! by all means talk about "attractive football" and "team togetherness" but not the Numbers! )
It's ok, we're all friends here.
And indeed I didn't choose the stats. As it is also my job, 43 hours a week producing stats that are used in many national publications, many used to justify spending hundreds and thousand on advertising.
'Most' is the easiest one. Just design your survey with 4 bad options and one average, so long as the average one is 1% higher we can declare "most people in our survey would drink bleach ahead of other drinks" even qualify it with "including Carling..."
Alas on this occasion I did just borrow Auntie's stats, but as said you'll find it hard to back Keans tenure up with many:
Steve Kean has 7 more points than the average top flight manager serving a driving ban!
Steve Kean has a better goal difference than 100% of the sides he faces this weekend
Steve Keans positive spin quadrant of result by expectancy is 1.72 squared
Todays Result:
39 points available:
7 taken = 18%
End of Season = 20 points
We Might be able to beat Derby's record at this rate
