With Modric going the other way .

We´ll even throw in Malouda and Kalou if you like.

That way you´ll have the whole Anelkalouda set .

Tell Anelka to go away RRP

I will try Gaz, but you know what Harry is like

Getting Gallas was bad enough, we can't be seen buying this guy as well. He doesn't even get in the Chelsea squad

Harrys just wumming us surely

Not in favor of bringing in anymore OAP's to be honest, should be building for the future, and Anelka has a shocking goal scoring record of late

I think that Harry/Levy did enough in the last transfer window (ade friedel parker, not selling modric, selling keane etc) to earn our backing and trust in this window.

I back Harry's judgement if he feels Anelka can do a job for us.

Half of us were moaning when we signed parker, the other half were complaining at having old man brad.....

it just shows that sometimes we dont know best.

i can look past the fact that hes a filthy goonchav due to the fact that he played for loads of other teams too.

I'd rather have Kanoute back

I actually think Anelka would be a good signing.

Anelka doesn't have the goals in him anymore, if he isn't doing the businesses for Chelsea i dont see why he would do the business for us? Wouldn't surprise me if he goes to the MLS to replace Beckham

RRP,

Ade couldnt even get in the City squad but look at him.

Can't really see the point with this one, understudy to Adebayor or another option coming off the flanks? Maybe we could get him on a loan deal or a one year contract...

Would rather we signed Hoilett from Blackburn - a lot younger, quicker and would cost less wages (plus he is a free agent next summer so the fee wouldn't be that big)... We haven't spent big on a young player (under 27) since Sandro 18 months ago - we need to rectify this if we want to push on again next season imo.

Chicken stop proving me wrong

Just think we could do better, buy someone for the future who's best years are ahead of them..not behind

clearly they do not view anelka as an alternative to hoilett. hoilett has 10 years left in the game and anelka has 1.

All of this after Harry said we wont be doing any business....the transfer window will drive me up the wall..AGAIN

RRP,

Fair point. BUT...........

I just cant see anyone allowing a "future star" to leave their club in January. January is all about picking up scraps to pick up your season - i think Anelka can do this. I'd feel sorry for Defoe as i think this would push him further behind in the pecking order, but i think he would be an excellent addition.

Chicken,

Ade is only 27 though where as Anelka is 32 which in the world of football means he should be applying for a bus pass soon

Id rather have Defoe tbh

Chicken - Of course January is not the time to be doing the business, but we suffered last season from not bringing in the players we needed...it is clear that if Ade gets injured, we are not left with ANY options, and with Pav likely to leave as well, we need someone to come in and get the goals, Anelka hasn't done that for a few seasons now

I dont like the idea of bringing in players to fill the gap for a few months, we should be investing in the future...

But i have been proved wrong before

Agreed with RRP,

We have quite a few again players in among the squad and to get someone like Anelka as well would be wrong. Spend the money more wisely and invest in a long term option such as Hoilett

Jenas is 28

Parker is 31

Arsenal wannabes

Chicken

I see your point but Anelka relies on pace where as Parker never has so age isn't so much a problem in that instance (P.S. Jenas is/ was awful so you couldn't really get anyone worse than him)
