I know we won tonight but City were very, very impressive, I will be amazed if you do not win the league this year.

Yep, City were unlucky in some respects, and they look like scoring every time they go forward. First 15–20 minutes Chelsea looked shell-shocked to me.

I did think it was a penalty to Chelsea though.

I dont think you can have much complaints about the penalty or the sending off. Silva dived in my book, everyone has an opinion though.

We were dominating your lot when it was 11 v 11 after your lot scored.
I can't see how you can question Clichy's double yellow card resulting in a red,it was clearcut.
Yep agree that you should have had a pen though.
Kompany and Toure (slapped Mata, petulant kick and this; http://h9.abload.de/img/toure0ia2p.gif ) should have been sent off I see you conveniently failed to mention that

Oh and why the hell did Lescott put his hand up in the air when your ex player Sturridge shot, no excuses for that. Deserved pen.

*I mean we(Chelsea) dominated after we scored, which why was for the last 65mins

No3. Obtain a dubious penalty to win.
===========
What was dubious about it? Lescott had his hands in the air and stopped the ball heading towards goal. Stonewall.

As the Chelsea fan said, City were lucky it was only Clichy who got sent off. Kompany, YaYa (and Merieles of Chelsea) could and should have gone as well.

City looked like they would demolish Chelsea for 25 minutes, then Chelsea were the better team.

Chelseamf, you say you dominated but Joe Hart didn't break a sweat (not that I could see through the rain ).
I don't think the OP is questioning the sending off either, he's just stating that it was a major factor in us losing

sturridge shot was heading at least 5 yards wide and ten yards high, how many times did clattenburg take this players side ,the first booking of clichy was no more than 2 players wrestling
toure seemed to be on some kind of sabotage mission if he and his brother want to take off then tata
watch how hard he marks his man for chelseas 1st goal ,joke, misplaced passing and yes he should get a ban for trying to wind up mata
chelsea were rubbish and there for the taking ,so its very frustrating ,they could hardly put 2 passes together,

Clattenburg was back to form. Def penalty on Silva, Meireles should have been off first half for his treatment of Silva, one especially before he scored deserved a straight Red. Can see why Clichy got sent off it was an unfortunate penalty as Chelsea were never going to score. Minor setback, still confirdent we will win the league, we have now played all our contenders for the title away bar Arsenal.

Bwahahaha Middle East City got schooled with old Money Ch3lski.

The real "_Invincibles_" are coming to the Middle East this weekend hope use ladies are going to be up for it

frewin be careful then. You admit Chelsea were rubbish and yet you top of the league were beaten by a rubbish team. If that's the case then more rubbish teams could beat you because you were not good enough to beat a rubbish team. What does it say for your form if you were beaten by rubbish? Your form must be rubbish too. Be careful,it's Arsenal next, another potential banana skin.

It's a pity yet another game has the ref as centre of it all again. We should be talking about how well Chelsea turned the game on its head from being dominated to put themselves right back in the title picture. The petty point scoring over refs decisions should be left to the bitter classless cycllist hating ones from north London
Lack of Plan B is a worry, the game mirrored the game at Anfield and we've not learnt anything from it.
Thankfully ,of the top 6,we only have the library to visit in April whereas everyone else has more banana skins to overcome
Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and praise the quality of the opposition and say well played Chelsea

posted on 13/12/11

Paul, you say well played Chelsea yet frewin says they were rubbish.

We were average in the 2nd half and Chelsea were good, but Clattenburg was the reason we didn't get a point from the game.

No surprises there though, he goes out of his way to deny us a fair result at least once a season.

Joe Hart didn't break a sweat
--------------------------------
That's no judge of how good a team has played. I've seen hundres of games where one team has dominated but the opposition keeper hasn't made a save.

And we've all seen hundreds of games where one team has been hammered, their keeper has made 8 or 10 world class saves, they break and score a winner. The workrate or not of a keeper is hardly an indication, perhaps he just has a good defence or bad strikers shooting at him?

1. Clichy got himself sent off

2. It was not a stonewall penalty at all. (you should learn not to agree with everything the pundits/media say) IMO it could have gone either way.

3 Dubious penalty???? he had his hands above his head...BOTH hands.... you know like a goalkeeper!

You should of been down to 8 men

Just sayin.

Ignore yesterdays result.
No one in the Premier League is anywhere near them for quality, style of football and potential.
Man City WILL win the Prem this season. When they are in gear, they are a very, very good team. Get the mental stuff right and the rest will follow.

Wiekens (U8141)

You bitter little oik. City nearly got out of jail once again (a la Anfield) and you have the audacity to claim everything went against you. Get a grip here mate.

Toure could have had a straight red, twice.

Kompany is two yellows waiting to happen every game and I lost count at the number of times Gareth Barry shoulder charged someone, either Ramires or Drogba in the back in the closing minutes.

Monday night football?

He should have been on Gladiators.

Haha this poster is doing exactly what he probably slates Fergie for doing when things don't go right for United! Typical bitter blue! Toure and Kompany should have gone.

Chelsea's penalty was a blatant handball.

City should have had a penalty, correct.

But you didn't take your chances in the first 25 minutes, you could have been out of sight before half time.

That is the mental side of the game and what will win titles, being able to put games to bed and win when you are on top.

But City in my opinion (as a United fan) will win the league. If they don't, it's because they don't have the mentality....yet!

Not another article blaming the referee...
How long have you been watching football if that's what you call the referee costing you points

"But you didn't take your chances in the first 25 minutes, you could have been out of sight before half time."

I agree. This was our biggest problem, not capitalising on our chances. There have been many times lately I've seen us create chance after chance and miss so many of them. Sooner or later, our lack of finishing prowess was going to be our undoing. And yes, I realise the irony of saying we don't score enough when we've bagged so many goals already!

The only reason we've got so many goals so far is because we have so many chances. Against sides that shut us down, we're going to get much fewer chances and so we need to make sure we score with the ones we do have. Last night we didn't and we paid the price.

I also think our defence is a shadow of what it was. We're conceding goals from half chances because the back four are going to sleep too often. We can't expect Joe to stop everything - that's what Bolton do to Jaaskelainen and he can't do it either.

As for the ref, Clottenberk is useless, but we know this already. He made mistakes all over the park and not just in Chelsea's favour. I always maintain that a good team should overcome a poor referee. We didn't last night and we got what we deserved.

I'm glad we lost, anyway. I've also noticed a degree of complacency in the team, hopefully this defeat will wake them all up.
