What law would you get rid of?

I think ball tampering should be allowed. i.e. you can damage the ball without needing to use a foriegn object so you can use your nails, hit the ball towards the ground but i guess bitting the ball maybe pushing it.

Hmm i'd say get rid of that outside the line rubbish, if the ball is going to hit the stumps it should be given out. Why should it matter if the ball landed a few inches away from an invisible line.

Slight agree with what your saying but what about the fielders that walk in while the ball is being bowled surely they must stand still as they would be putting the batsmen off by moving.

Dernbach we all know most teams tamper with the ball so why not legalise it? I'm sure both Hussain and Atherton have asked for it to be legalised.

No walking in is fine but the batsman should be in his crease.. When i play i back up as much as possible but keep my bad behind the crease

where do you draw the line though Kash?

You should be able to use your fingers, dig your nails in and roughten up one half of the ball. Anything else like biting, spikes, bottletops etc should be outlawed still.

yes but what about if the ball really start to "rip up" & becomes misshaped in someway

All we really need is a way to inforce strict 15 overs an hour. The game is slow enough as it is, we don't need 10 overs an hour.

The other issuse is that if umpires decide to come off due to rain, why does it take so long to get back on the field after the rain stops?

The other thing I would change is the stupid lunch break in tests. I am all for a lunch break if the players actully played in the morning, but I have seen a few cases where the morning session rains off and when the sun finally comes out, we have been told that its lunch now

Umpires should do everything possible to get 90 overs in a day at 15 overs an hour

I would also have a minimum boundary length for ODI and test cricket, some grounds out there are a disgrace. A minimum of 85m is a must. The bats are too good and pitches too flat to allow a 60m boundary.

I agree Singh, i think we should just start from scratch with all the rules & amend them to make the game better

Make DRS compulasary.

Sometimes people forget that DRS is in there to eliminate absolute shokers. The only people who are against it are people who don't understand it.

"A minimum of 85m is a must."

Well that's pretty much the end for English grounds then isn't it?

I agree with Singh_Saab on DRS and getting a full days play. The players shouldn't have lunch or tea until they've bowled 30 overs. If they're too slow then they lose some of their lunch break.

I disagree with taking the 'outside the line' law out of lbw. But we should get rid of the 'benefit of doubt' to batsman. I'm not sure it's actually a law, but everything should be done to quash the notion. If it can be given out then it should imo.

"Where have you been all my life?"

I hope that is rhetorical

I have changed my display name, please take note

I would get rid of the law that says when the ball is dead when it hits the floor.. So when a fielder picks up the ball he can claim a catch..
The game will be over in 5 minutes though..

we certainly should not get rid of benifit of the doubt to the batsman.

the batsman has only one chance, the bowler has many

Kash, am all for your point of view..I agree aslong as the ball isnt chopped in two.. Or bitten like on one occasion..
Then again if you can bite through a cricket ball. you deserve the praise..

"the batsman has only one chance, the bowler has many"

Doesn't really make any sense at all.

posted on 13/12/11

Yes it does. If a batter is out, that's it. The bowler gets another shot at him with his next delivery.
