Yes hes certainly better than what we have got and the added height point is a very good one. With there being a delay to make him an offer i am wondering if Pesc has got someone else in mind.Personally i hope there 2 or three changes at the back.

Big Kev is an improvement on what we have and has added extra competition, friends in the game all say he is athletic and good going forward and will get plenty of assists. He seems to have improved the fitter he has got. He's experienced and certainly seems to have fitted in with the rest of the lads plus i think he works well with Cleveland Taylor. I'd sign him but would also definately be looking for a commanding centre half.

This was a talking point on monday and my only conclusion is Pesch must have something set up.
Why esle would he still play him if hes leaving.
Obviously Ronnie is a squad player and a good one to have as cover,
Rumours Kosluk has been training with us and could be the answer.
Interested in your thoughts on that one.
Agree we could do with some cover in defence.
Started to squirm a bit when i saw Moore warming up on monday.
Surely someone can drop something on his foot to keep him out until his contract runs out.

Did I read somewhere that we have not kept a clean sheet in the games that Amankwaah has played?

That is not a reflection of what I think of the chap. It is just a statistic that I think I read recently and probably a reflection of the fact that we don't keep clean sheets full stop !

Just read the following on the Burton Mail website:

And to demonstrate a ruthless streak, the Brewers boss last night parted company with Kevin Amankwaah.

The 29-year-old full-back had established himself as a first-team regular after signing a three-month deal — but was told it would not be renewed.

The Brewers boss said: “Kevin has done a good job for us and I think he was shocked when I told him I wouldn’t be keeping him.

“But bottom line is I need the money to invest in and strengthen other areas of the team.” Amankwaah made eight appearances and was in the team that won 3-2 at Northampton Town on Boxing Day.

While I very rarely criticise a manager, have to state this is simply a joke! What other areas do we need to invest in? It's the defensive frailties that is our Achilles heal. Kevin has come in done a good job and is shown the door, yet we have an overpaid Charlie who's a total drain on our resources, happy to collect his wages for warming the bench. Tut Tut!

Thought there was something deeper Captain didnt i.I think its something to do with his attitude towards other players.Cast your mind back to the incident at the final whistle with Billy Key the other week.Perhaps a little bit to arrogent for Pesc and lets face it we dont want that sort do we ???

I agree Emnez. There is more to this than meets the eye.

If it is just a football decision (which I don't believe), Gary Rowett is a former right back and presumably knows whats what.

tc brewer, that made me laugh, a classic !!!
I agree i'm urprised Amankwaah is going but there is obviously more to it than we will know. On the plus side Pesch is obviously looking to strengthen, a quality centre back please ! and surely something can be thrashed out with Darren Moore. I'm trying to put a positive spin on this from us the supporters angle.
