We probably should have had a man advantage for the tackle on Spearing, but other than that he was fine. I certainly wouldn't call it a "disgusting display".

Why does not sending off opposition players drag our club's name through the mud - that doesn't make any sense?

Totally agree about the ref tonight.

When you consider the red cards we saw at the Emirates and OT.

Atleast Bellamy didnt get a yellow for pointing out these kind of facts to the referee this time he usually does.

Progress!

It makes sense because for everything that has happened, wouldn't it be great for the FA to appease the hatred for our club while watching our players get bloodied up?

I didn't think it was a freekick for our second goal either oh well, but Cabaye's tackle was not seen by the red nor the elbow they can't give what they don't see!

I dont think the elbow on Bellamy was a red byt Cabaye's tackle should of been a red and I think that the FA should look into it!

The tackle on spearing was no worse than the one at fulham

Two bolt-on red cards. Bellamy though, has got to watch his mouth. He makes Rooney sound like a saint. I don't know how many times he effed off at the world and his dog, and that's going to lose him any support from the officials. One of Skrtels best games, Downing too, Hendo's lay off to the skipper to score was sheer bliss. Criticisms? How many times di we lose possession by heading the ball to the opposition? ACs best game so far too, he's getting there, slowly. JimmyTheRed

Surely the biased performance of the ref. is to be expected.
The F.A. have a vendetta against Liverpool.
The ref. is in the employ of the F.A.
He must follow the orders of his superiors.
He will probably be demoted to fourth official in a championship game for not sending Spearing off.
Good to see that a win is graciously taken on board.
Que sera,sera.

As a stalwart Liverpool fan, I'm not entirely 100% convinced that the tackle on Spearing was a defo. red card.

Sport these days is more energetic, faster and players are a lot stronger etc, etc.

It was (IMO) a 50/50. Spearing won it with milliseconds to spare. I doubt very much if there was any intent on Cabaye's part (only he would know) but a yellow at most.

I personally feel sorry for the likes of players of years gone by, they must watch football these days and just laugh!

Can you imagine Nobby Stiles, Ron "Chopper" Harris, Tommy Smith & Des Bremner (et all) playing today? They wouldn't last 10 minutes.

Football is a contact sport, contact is bound to happen.

We are playing Football and not Basketball ! !

90% of the tackles that get adjudged to be "fouls" in 7 around the halfway line wouldn't constitute to being a penalty if it happened in the box. So why the difference?

Ref's should be Ex-Players - They're the ones who'd know if an attempted tackle was genuine or not!
