i agree with dropping gambhir, he looked hopelessly out o0f form in the first test. It's ok knowing you have one opener who might get out in sehwag, and with him you have the consolation of knowing he'll likely get a few before he does. you cannot have two players who don't look like sticking around opening the batting. it is a recipe for disaster.

Gambhir's favorite scoring area is behind point and on bouncy pitches (where the ball carries to gully) it is a recipe for disaster. He was doing a lot of this against WI as well, but the difference was that the ball never carried to the slip region and he survived.

The only issue I have with me team is the amount of right handers in the top 8, but I guess one must put the best 11 on the field.

I would swap Laxman with Kohli, but didn't do it as it would be too big of a change to the line up

I think everyone one knew that Sharma would make more runs at #6, but we didn't have a reason to drop Kohli. This is what has kept us from more up sooner and from staying there longer.

We should put our best 11 on the field without feeling guilty; something we Indian are pretty poor at doing. We try to accommodate and please everyone. This doesn't always work to reach the team goal.
