On a similar not i didn't see how ashley cole managed to get away with 3/4 terrible tackles - should've at least been given a yellow

Thanks for pointing out the obvious...
Wolves fans (and players/manager/staff etc) must be rather angry about the goings on over the festive period.
Milijas (or whatever his name is) got a soft red for a challenge I didn't even think was a foul, and failed in an appeal to get it over-turned. Then they see Lampard escape with just a yellow for a far worse tackle.
Inconsistancy is a beyaatch!
(for the record, I think Spearings red was justifiable)
I think Spearing's tackle wasn't a red card but I can see how the ref could give it at first glance. However since that tackle I have seen many worse, although I didn't see the Lampard tackle.

Why do the Chelsea player hate AVB? That's another thing which is obvious.
It's nice to see that Lampard admitting he should've been sent off though. Probably a pretty hollow gesture to Wolves now but there's very few players who I could see doing the same.
Its all getting a bit ridiculous. The Spearing one could have gone either way. I personally didn't think it was a red but you can see why he gave it. The Lampard challenge was a definite red though.
McCarthy must be scre wing. He saw Milijas get sent off for nothing and then the decision was ridiculously upheld by the FA, then Lampard not get sent of for a potential leg breaker. He then goes on to score the winner! Shouldn't have been on the pitch. And because he's been given a yellow already there can be no retrospective action taken by the FA.
Also cabayes tackle on spearing should have been a straight red.
Although my view on the Spearing incident is that it's debatable whether to send him off.
I've heard many good arguments for and against sending him off (mainly against) so if an issue is that controversial you can hardly blame the ref for the decision.
You also have to take the ref's view of the incident into account. Not sure where he was but if all he sees is Spearing's studs flying into whoever it was the I think his view is justified.
Personally I can't decide so I was willing to accept whatever outcome. Perhaps it's another call for video technology. If the ref could view it again he may have made a more informed decision.
FatJanMolby pretty much summed up what I said just before me...
to me, they were both yellows.
I think they need to change the rules for retrospective action. Tackles like Lampard's should be getting bans, even if he has been booked for it.
This is what frustrates me the most about refs.....they are SO inconsistent. A couple weeks ago, Luiz got a yellow for being last man and fouling Ba, while Cahill got a red for a tackle 40 yards from goal and another dfender well placed.
They STILL react to reputation and its probably the case that if it were Gerrard or Parker and not Spearing the card would be yellow or less.
I spend more time at the game getting frustrated with refs than I do with the opposition or our own players
Luiz was a yellow, and rightly so as Cech was getting to the ball first. And it was offside and not a foul

No way. Cech was no where near it. Off side is not relevant...if its a foul, then its a red. ref booked him so thought it was a foul. the card had to be red. Bottle job! CFC got another decision yesterday. Perhaps all AVB about decisions have had some effect.

Yeah - none of them ran over to AVB when Lamps scored in the last minutes y'day did they
Agger - you're a plum
Rodwell getting sent off for sneezing on Suarez. Inconsistency all over the place

You didnt go for that PR stunt did you?
Off side is not relevant

now I konw you are mental.
If it is offisde, there is no foul.
And Cech was 100% getting to it
Mr Chelsea
Refs have to take into account about players' personal hygiene. It was a dirty attack on Suarez.
