What will be Hansen's answer ?
This lad was unlucky there and will learn from his mistakes. He has the making of a legend.

As things stand I think Luiz is a better defender but Jones has plenty of potential. Jones seems to be at his best when he plays in midfield for Man U. That may change as he matures and improves his positional play and judgement, but right now he seems dangerous at the back for Man U.

Also the small fact that Luiz is 5 years older, Jones will become the best in the world imo, Luiz will become better aswell maybe in a midfield role though?

'Jones will become the best in the world imo,'

That one single statement shows exactly why every non-United fan enjoyed Jones' own goal so much.

I posted this earlier on a different thread but you are by far the worst culprit so here goes again...

"Jesus some Chelsea fans are obsessed. As much as Jones is overrated, he wouldn't have done what Luiz did against Villa and leave us wide open. Literally, even the likes of Wigan and Bolton don't even let in goals like that."

"Yeah I know that [Phill Jones] was shocking but this whole debate seems to be "Luiz is bad but Jones is worse". Hardly something to be cheering about."

The thing is who was controlling Jones on the playstation?

What at???...........FIFA 2012.

Not really because we don't think Luiz is bad and those who do can see he can easily become the best defender in the world. Jones however...

No Luiz is brilliant, Jones is mediocre.

maybe Gary Neville will say Jones looks like he's being controlled by a 9 year old on playstation who's not in the same room as the tv.

Hopefully. I wish someone would just tell Gary, Alan and Jamie how it is.

Luiz is brilliant? You don't think Luiz is bad?

That goal we let in against Villa was 99.9% Luiz' fault and like I say you don't even see the likes of Wigan, Blackburn of Bolton let in those types of goals. It is basic defending 101, how can you say that someone with that poor understanding about what to do in that situation is anything other than abysmal?

No it was the midfield's fault.

Luiz is not a good defender YET. Good at going forward but makes mistakes at the back, no amount of stats will hide that fact NPE. Jones was ridiculously rubbish tonight. Lost every header apart from the one he directed into his net but I don't care about Jones to be honest. Luiz for me switches off at crucial times, At times he's solid, other times he's a mess.

"Lies, damned lies and statistics". Mikel comes out on top for passing statistics and yet you berate him.

Are you really trying to tell me that it was the midfield fault Luiz decided to run out to closer the RB position, when there was no opposition player near there, leaving the man free right in the centre of the pitch?

Despite the opposition player being clear of the midfield and on the ball, there was only one attacking player bar the one in possession to mark, so 99 times out of a hundred nothing would have come of it. You can hardly say it was the midfield fault.

Revoltution I put some blame on the midfield purely for not closing the Villa player down however Luiz made the mistake of moving out to the right when in fact if he stayed where he was, he would have most probably intercepted the ball.

posted on 5/1/12

Sure you have to put some blame on the midfield. But the manner of the goal, the fact Petrov didn't have to make any sort of movement, the fact that the pass that made it was straightforward and the fact that we had about 6 players back defending and yet they still managed to make an easy 1 on 1 is just unacceptable.

I haven't seen Chelsea let in a goal like that in years.

Doesn't mean he's a bad defender. You're not so quick to judge Jones now are you?
