Ha! Ha! Ha!.................I've just found out why this pelican has gone to the trouble of leaving a comment on here.
I know our numbers are down a bit on this new site, but you will laugh your head off if you went onto the union site.......Ha! Ha! Ha!...one article every 3 days at times.
It probably comes down to a low education, which in turn explains why there are so many idiots at union games.

When League becomes a true sport, it'll get better media coverage, maybe more so than -

So, e-mc2, a few questions for you -

Do you honestly feel criticising our code is the best way to recruit and endear us to yours? I presume you love your code, we love ours too; not a complicated concept to grasp really. Why can't you just accept that and move on?

What are your motives for posting childish threads on the Rugby League boards? Can I suggest two possible answers?
a) you are actually quite obsessed with Rugby League (albeit in a delusional, negative manner)
b) you're just bored and think winding people up - rather unsuccessfully in this and many other cases on the old 606 boards - may fill a void in your life.

Let's see if you can reply in a mature, polite manner. The floor is yours.

Just because your sport uses retired darts players as forwards doesn't mean you can moan at our scrums

------------------------------------------

Simple answer .... they've got no life and want to generate responses like the one you've just posted ....

For me both codes have pros and cons. The one common denominator across both though is the way the scrum has become a boring useless feature of the game.

I've played both, i've watched both - i really enjoy both. Why the 2 have to be compared i've no idea, it serves no purpose.

Oh by the way E=mc2 ....... RL might only feature in the headlines below bowls and marbles - but you took the time to find it......

Give us a kiss Einstein, bet you love watching league on the telly don't you come on admit it

l11dsu4ever,
I doubt e-mc2 was hoping for an answer like mine - but then again, any response usually pleases the attention seeking types, so you may have a point? He's a troll, hoping to either upset people or get them to enter into a slanging match. My response was neither.

I was merely allowing him to justify his anti-league stance - and his apparent obsession with it - and maybe earn some credibility by putting across a well-considered argument.

Still waiting though.......
Probably won't get an answer......
Hey ho......
Never mind.

I actually believe the RL code is a disgrace to sport and sports people.

The game stops everytime someone is tackled and the ref has to continuously shout out the tackle count as the players don't seem to be able to count to 5. It takes sometimes up to 3 or 4 people to bring down one player with the ball.

Each and every scrum breaks RL law as the ball is never put in straight.

It's fairly clear what the general view is by both the public (judging by the poor crowds) and the media (by the non-precedence it gets in both the written and broadcast versions).

The comments I deleted were abusive and used foul language, just as yours did and was deleted as such. Just as they would have been on the R5L/606 board.

Nowhere have I been personally abusive. Maybe that's part of your RL psyche too ?

"enjoy your false media led sport that the majority of the public don't really have a clue about"

And I'm afraid that calling the majority of the public clueless, just about sums you up......

Thank you for your reply e-mc2. If you'll allow me to counter your arguments...

"The game stops everytime someone is tackled"
True, albeit very briefly. I'm not sure how much union you watch, but every 'phase' of play is broken up by things called 'rucks' and 'mauls', which usually halt open play for considerably more time than the much cleaner, tidier, and spectator friendly, 'play the ball' in Rugby League.

"the ref has to continuously shout out the tackle count"
A practical measure to ensure the officials, players and fans are all 'singing from the same hymn sheet'. Hardly derogatory to the sport's credibility really. Quite a bizarre thing to complain about. Clutching at straws?

'It takes sometimes up to 3 or 4 people to bring down one player with the ball'
I refer you back to the 'ruck' and maul' scenarios in RU - the last time I watched, quite a few people got involved in these.

"Each and every scrum breaks RL law as the ball is never put in straight"
The Rugby League scrum, unlike its Union counterpart, is an uncontested restart of play. It has been kept merely for purposes of tradition rather than for any practical reason. RL fans are divided into 3 camps on it's fate -
1) Those who like it as it is, because it groups the forwards together, creating a purely backs v backs situation.
2) Those who feel we should scrap the, now obsolete, scrum all together.
3) Those who would like to see us revert back to contested scrums - however, if this were to happen, the worry is that referees would have to stick to the letter of the law and we would end up with something similar to the RU scrum; crouch, touch, engage, collapse, repeat this process until a penalty is awarded. Hardly the epitome of entertainment.
Whichever way you look at RL scrums, they are a very minor part of the game and hardly earn the game the 'disgrace' tag you so kindly give it.

Hope that's clarified a few things for you. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any more queries.

So, now you've established the (albeit flawed) reasons why you dislike League, I suppose the only thing left to say is... don't watch it!
Thanks.

Why would it matter to you if it is a small provincial game ignored by the press and not great to watch.

You know you can enjoy a game without worrying if it will be in the press or if there are tens of thousand on the terraces, it's strange how you feel the need to belittle the game and its supporters.

Does this make you feel good about yourself, if so I would suggest you go get your self esteem from more positive avenues as it's quite sad.

all I can add to that is One game is fast flowing open Rugby ( League ).......and the other is totally dull with too many players and silly lineouts, it also has scrums which go on forever and generally collapse with One team getting a penalty, did I mention its dull as well ( Union ).....but hey thats just my opinion and the reason I don't go on the Union forum....if Union floats your boat Tarquin fairplay...just post articles on the Union boards so us nasty Leaguey people can't abuse you ( because we don't post on the Union boards to abuse your dull game, you give us the greenlight to do it here )...
