Legend and he's not done yet
Gerrard won't win a league medal and for me that is a travesty. What a player. The emotions he has given me, throughout his career, are second only to...well they're second, my wife would kill me if I revealed that.
Forever in my memory will I remember the goal against Olympiakos - "Youuuu beauty! What a ht son, what a hit. He was saying how he didn't want to wake up tomorrow in the Europa League..." and the headed goal in the Champions League final when he ran back, with the ball as if it had all become possible again.

Legend.
I pray he wins the league before his career is out.
He made Torres look like the best striker in the world.
His goal against Utd at anfield when he was a kid was my favourite goal. I was there that day and it was incredible.
It's a bit sad that we will never see a better player in a red shirt, but then again at least he played in our lifetime....
Gerrard, but I can't remember much of Dalglish playing so I'm bias. ...
Gerrard...has one player ever had such an impact on a club carrying so many average players ?
Best Liverpool player ever...and not many better players have graced the English game.
Tough call. I grew up watching Kenny and thought i would never ever see a player to rvial him as the best LFC player of all time. Gerrard is right up there in my estimation but i find it difficult to look beyond Kenny.

He might if he does a michael owen.

Thing is, would he be happy playing two carling cup games a season and spending the rest of his time on twitter. Yeah Owen is having such a graceful end to his career.
What a player! Best ever PL midfielder IMO.
And BTW you left out quote by Hiddink
Good shout on Torres
Could it be that Gerrard helped keep Torres at that incredible level. Torres could have put himself right up there with the legends.
Gerrard is and will probably always be my favorite football player ever.
Gerrard needs a pacy forward infront of him as much as they need him.
You just have to look at the way he and Owen used to link-up as well.
Gerrard make strikers better than usually are. Torres was once the 3 world best player. Just shows you how bad our strike force is atm.
Leiva la vida Lucas (U2720) Totally agree with this. A pacey striker also takes defenders away and makes space for the Gerrard crackers. No suprise we have not seen many shots from him because the attack is more congested. I do miss the good Torres days very much.
Javier-Stevie&Aquilani (U7411)
Suarez can help draw defenders away but the problem is when he doesnt get the service upfront he drops deep to make things happen himself.
However the Everton game this season was the only time i saw Gerrard, Suarez and Carroll on the pitch at the same time and Gerrard was popping up everywhere in midfield spraying the ball around while the BS worried about our 2 strikers.
From those few mins, it was very convincing with 3 of them on the pitch. Although Everton were a man down in that game

Here's the quote; Gus Hiddink commenting on World Footballer of the Year when Ronaldo won it:
"Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, Lionel Messi or Xavi from Barcelona deserved the award more. Ronaldo is only focused on finishing in front of goal.
"I love Gerrard's qualities as a player and a leader. Technically and tactically he is the best. His passion is enormous. I like him so much more than Ronaldo. He means as much for a great team as George Best did."
