Can Dalglish survive defeats in the cups?

posted on 22/1/12

Seems he is invincible with the majority of Liverpool supporters.

This is the comolli whose signings are the foundation of spurs present success? I remember a lot pool fans making that clear when he was signed.

More importantly who do you think would rush out and buy premium british talent? Is that not a specialty of kenny? Clear case of buck passing here

When a manager starts to criticise his own players, you know the end is nigh.

It seems to be convenient to blame the other guy (Comolli) since he is foreign. For goodness sake Rafa was blamed by some for one bad season but consistently got us Champions League football (foreign btw). Let's not forget we are yet to get to that level since his departure; to me we have been stagnant which is scary. So far this season, Kenny has been up and down in terms of success but most fans are content with his inconsistencies. Had it been Rafa or any other manager at the club, most will be screaming for their head. Kenny made some bad decisions with his playing staff (players) and must live with the consequence. If he is the right man for the job (I am beginning to have my doubt), he has to turn it around very quickly. I think we should be judging Kenny on present terms rather than on past glory. At the moment he is not getting the job done if he has to remind his players on the importance of every match through the media. I believe that should have been part of the team talk during match preparation. I'm done for now.

Critisizing players in football does not seem to work but daglish is a motivator who can turn things around at the club. Maybe what should be done is the complete opposite of the article; let comolli handle all the transfers. He has a great network of scouts who can sport talent that can grow into top players. Let them come in and daglish mould them.

Sadly i doubt its will be allowed. Kenny has way too much influence.

You are repeating yourself, Beeb. Gurdevlfc, while the teams last performance left much to be desired, and, it must be conceded, Kenny's signings didn't cover themselves in glory, no one will be sold, especially in the short term. Confidence took an horrendous knock yesterday; I believe it will do the squad good. Don't, please, start writing off players and squad just because of the last two games. As John Barnes, a great servant of LFC said yesterday before the match, Liverpool are a work-in-progress, and I agree with that. Patience friend. YNWA JimmyTheRed

Beeb. Why shouldn't he criticise them? They were awful so deserved everything they got. Are you one of the people that believe the pampered, massively overpaid brats should just have an arm put around them and ask them if its no trouble please can you try a bit harder next time? You're clearly a tree-hugging imbecile.

I didn't think the article was good at all.

Just seems a hatchet job attack on Commolli to absolve Kenny of any and all blame.

And I don't have any issues with 16 mil for Henderson or some nominal fee for Adam. One's a prospect and the other a squad player.

I think the Suarez and Coates deals are the ones Comolli was closer linked to. Players from outside the Premier League.

Fred, if you are right, and I'm not saying you are wrong, then, who at LFC pushed for the AC signing? JimmyTheRed

Kenny.

Easy question.

I still think (opinion) that the strategy was to lock down the domestic quota for a good 6 years with solid younger British players. Then that frees us up to pursue whoever we want going forward from any country.

If I'm wrong and the strategy was British > foreign, then I'm extremely disappointed.

I think that there is a mixture of things going wrong that will take some sorting.

We have players bought in who are not performing, key players such as Lucas out, and we have suddenly started to play like a mid table team.

Part of the blame has to lay with Kenny I feel. His team line ups and tactics seem to have gone haywire over the last few games.
We could, and should, have been at least 3-0 up at half time against Man City, which would have almost put the tie to bed. If we had carried on playing as we did in the first half we probably would have scored a couple more, as on the day Man City were way below par and were there for the taking, but in the second half we played a virtual nine man defence.
Since then we had a crazy team and tactics against Stoke, which some of you may remember I forecast a bore draw before the game started. As for Bolton yesterday!

How to solve it - don't ask me, I'm not a manager working with the players every day. Kenny is payed to do that so for 'F' sake sort it.
As for the players - Fans are paying a lot of money to go and support the team, to watch players getting payed obscene amounts to play, so they either need to pull the red shirt on with pride and play the best they can for the support they are receiving, or if their best isn't good enough they should go play somewhere else....and THAT is also down to Kenny to sort!

>>If we had carried on playing as we did in the first half

the match changed when WeeJay went off. I don't think we could keep playing the way we did without a player of his style.
