I would have thought other liverpool fans might have maybe agreed with me after everyone castigated suarez without any proof.

So THATS what this is really about

True, but surely that's Webb's fault for not giving the red card? It seems to me that any other player doing this, and it would be the ref that got the stick.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
So its not Balotelli's fault because the Ref didnt see it? What sort of logic is that?
Sure...It's Webbs fault that he stamped on a player!
A player is responsible for then own actions and if the ref missed it then the FA will bring that person to account!

Both should have been sent.
I think that maybe Ballotelli didn't realise he was going to stud parker in the face...
The kick back did look completely intentional, he would have had a lot more chance of staying on his feet if he didn't kick Scotty so the balance excuse doesn't wash for me...
I don't know any kind of excuse someone could make for Lescott ?

"single one of you genuinely think that he was trying to kick scott parker in the face?"
-----
Was he deliberately trying to kick another player? Yes, and the detail doesn't really matter from there on in.
.....................
I have to agree with that. I thought it was a deliberate stamp when I saw it at the time.
Replays only confirm that. I really can not see how you can come to any other conclusion.
guys this guy is a clown and as obvious as the day is long... his manager reguallry hauls him off cos he can see him going to foul and get sent off a mile off.
in other words he's not the type to be a sneak and do that, he's the type to wind up his leg and look pure thick as he kicks you 5 times.... I don't see it as a stamp.
I mean come one, the only damage done was by his leg on the first swing round and he was clealry off balance, no stamp, no issue.
plus if we were excluced from city's squad they'd be the better for it!

I think you need a trip to specsavers mate.
It was a deliberate stamp, end of discussion
Lescott must be feeling pretty lucky today that no one seems to be talking about his shameful elbow on Kaboul

Actually the first contact was Ballotelli accidentally hitting into Parkers head with the back of his leg, not one person has complained about that as it is clearly accidental...
It is a few seconds later when rather than gaining his balance he swings his leg back at Parkers face is what people are complaining about...
Hang on... Soa big deal is only being made of this because he didn't get a red and yet its got nothing to do with Webb not giving the red?
There is some controversy that Webb missed the incident and didn't give a red, it is understandable that refs will miss some incidents...
Accidentally missing something and kicking someone in the face are slightly different levels of wrong though, missing the incident was a bad mistake. Kicking someone in the face (with your studs as well) is particularly nasty.
The fact that Balotelli hits Parker accidentally the first time means that Balotelli knows there is a player there, so even if you're trying to regain your balance you know you're putting your foot into someone. As it happens he's pushing his leg back with the sort of force that would suggest it's not about regaining his balance.
It is a red card. Anyone trying to defend it is an idiot.

Totally, 100%. Lescott too.. although you can't definitely say it was intentional anyone that knows football knows it was.

I can see how someone could maybe make a case for Ballotellis being accidental if they had only seen it during the action, once you watch a replay though it is clear as day... I don't now how anyone can even begin to justify Lescott's attack though...
If you watch Balotelli's tumble to the ground, it looks like a dive, as if to say he never needed to regain his balance in the first place, and was making it look like he was unbalanced.
And yeah Bale's the Lescott foul was equally disgusting, and should be talked about equally.
You can clearly see the intent. You can see all the muscles tense up as he drives down his foot... You could get away with it if it was the leading leg, but as his momentum is throwing him forward this wouldn't happen (naturally).
It was 100% intentional.
For what it’s worth I think the first contact was accidental – but the second was deliberate. I wouldn’t call it a stamp… I’d call it more a tread… but that is neither here nor there – it should have been a red card!
Oh, I see what was supposed to have happened here...
We were all supposed to be baying for Balotelli's blood! Shame as there's been a bit of a love-in about him recently. Don't get it myself, but he is a "character" that's for sure
Balotelli is hysterically funny
I like him
