Aus v India 4th test, day 1

It is going to be interesting on who wins the toss....Clake has already indicated he will bat if he wins the toss but will make up his mind this after looking at the pitch this morning.

Batting first is usually the way most captains will decide on winning the toss, but I believe this Adelaide wicket has got a lot to offer the bowlers, particulary the 1st session and this is where the game could be won or lost.

If Clarke bats and ends up 70 for 3 at lunch he will regret his decision..

Send the opposition in I say, this track will be a batsman paradise come days 2 & 3....

why predict what is predictable. Maybe pose a question on whether india will be able to score 300 if they are put to bat first or how many overs is needed to take the australian 10 wickets if they bowl first.

but i hope this time this batting line up clicks. have been waiting for 14 innings now, and still counting. The best batting line up in the history of test cricket might play their last game together.......and it would take centuries to reach this feat which this legendary batting line up holds.

Lol Robin Sehwag is skipper but 3 overs and spin shows he has no faith in his quick men.

Batting is slight bit of concern for Aussies.New generation of Aussie pace bowlers have cemented their place but batting has not quite been replaced yet.

Pretty hard to replace quality batsmen when all the cricket world provides now is 20/20 bash boof-heads....

Australia easing down these last 10 or 15 overs as today's damage has been done.

335/3, though I think the Indian bowlers may respond tomorrow and get them all out under 500.

Guys anyone else concerned of the welfare of Neon? It's not like him to disappear?

posted on 24/1/12

I'm more concerned about yadav kash, 12 overs 87-0 and Sharma 52-0

posted on 24/1/12

yadav did at least ball with pace right up til the end. see the bouncer that hit clarke on the helmet and he hardly even moved

posted on 24/1/12

Lol Afridi looks like Yadhav is about to follow the footsteps of many Indian bowlers of the ilk of Sreesanth. As for Sharma he is the Indian Mo Sami

Peter Ried......I wouldn't say the ball that hit Clarkes helmet was full on ball it virtually glanced his helmet....unless of course I missed the one you speak of...

posted on 24/1/12

it glanced his helmet, but it certainly surprised the cap'n

Rabbit,

You were spot on with your predictions yesterday mate, aussie did bat first and as you said there was a high possible of losing early wickets first thing on that pitch - spot on!!

Thing with indian bowlers is that, they know the first 3 aussie wickets are fragile, and if they can break the clarke/ponting one, they are in with a real shout - but they just give up...........

Expect the aussies to hit a minimum of 450 and over 500 if these two continue a session or so........ things look bleak for the indians. Wonder what Gambir made of the conditions on day 1

Also, why did sehwag bowl more overs than yadavster?
