What a horrible little fcker peter has become.
We werent hours away from been wiped out, we would have gone into admistration.
And anyone who believes anything this ar sehole creeper is a fool
do you not feel he has a point LIW
No
He was shamefully part of the board that sold off ER and TA, not for the benefit of the club but to line the directors pockets.
People forget that.
He;s a s cumbag
LIW-
but if it was'nt for bates leeds fans like yourself would not be buying season tickets and merchandise etc beacuse the club would be no longer, you must agree with that
Same Peter Lorimer that had to have 2 testimonials becuase he slashed the money from the 1st one up a wall somewhere.
Great player but an bum lickin kawner as an exec.
beacuse the club would be no longer, you must agree with that
---------------------------------------------------------------------
No because no chance that the club would of folded, not a chance.

Hows things mate
you renewed
no mate...unlikely that i will....these last few weeks have made me feel really weird, bit disheartened or summat??
I just have a horrible feeling whoever is in charge next isnt going to go down well.
It kills me to even see people like ince, keane & bruce mentioned.
People say Bruce would be good, but hes had money everywhere hes been, Wigan, Birmingham & Sunderland and never did anything special.
I think O'Driscoll would get us playing football, and with out attacking options, thats surely the way to go.
Warnock would be too hoofball for me & i thik the relationship between him & bates would overshadow the team.
Di Matteo, done nothing, but is a Chelsea yes man as is Zola so they are more likely to turn up.
Apart from the Leeds side of things, im good mate.
Hows you?
i've always liked O'Driscoll
I've reviewed but it was hardest ever to.
Yeah am good, we'll have to catch up for a beer before season ends
This is The Baggie Man
I have no axe to grind and looking in from the outside, it seems to me that Ken Bates saved Leeds United from extinction and them now being history.
The problem as I see it is that the majority of Leeds United supporters still believe they are one of the top clubs in the country which they clearly aren't.
It's exactly the same with Notts Florist who live on their history of winning the European Cup over 30 years ago! They, like Leeds have the belief that past success counts today and of course it doesn't and never will.
The sooner Leeds United and Nottingham Forest have realistic targets the better it will be for them. You will one day become a Premier League clubs again but it takes a long time getting there from the depths to which both clubs sank.
This was The Baggie Man
So let me see if I understand what Peter is saying here.
The club was 2 hours away from going into administration and it would not have survived this administration.
However Bates came along and we went into administration, but this administration was different somehow and we survived it.
nothing wrong with ambition baggie man just because you are happy being a yo-yo club doesn't mean we to be
same for Forest...
size matters
No offece biggie but forest arent in the same league when it comes to the size of leeds
Mattyp
Totally agree, spot on

You have a season ticket yet say Warnock would be too hoofball? Yet Grayson played most Godoy ball ever seen.
And you want O'Driscoll Yet got sacked by Doncaster just because u think he could make us play football?
Di Matteo, done nothing? Yet got west brim up!
But agree about Bruce.
This is The Baggie Man
Tuscany and LIW.... you have confirmed EXACTLY what I was saying ! Living on past glory with the ostrich syndrome - heads in the sand.
Leeds United are not and have not been a 'massive' club for a long time and the sooner you lot accept that, the better it will be for you in getting back into the Premier League.
Baggies a yo-yo club ? At least we are in the Premier League and will likely to be for three consecutive seasons - hardly yo-yo these days with Uncle Woy at the helm I presume from what you say you wouldn't want that ?
Notts Florist, although smaller crowds, they did win the European Cup twice..... how many times have Leeds ?
This was The Baggie Man
the baggie man... are you saying that Leeds United don't have history? big following, league titles, cup wins etc..
would you say Leeds United whilst in the old div 2, before we won the title in 1992, were not still a big club?
what is it you think makes a big club?
The fans make the club thats why we are big
seriously though, no disrespect baggie but Leeds will always be a big club for all reasons I've stated above, L2 or Champions League, like it or not mate... I don't make the rules do I?
This is The Baggie Man
Tuscany... as I said in my last comment "Leeds United are not and have not been a 'massive' club for a long time" which is very true - not for a long time is the key.
Leeds have never won the Premier title and in fact, apart from a couple of seasons have ended mid-table. The highest you have ever finished in the Prem was 3rd in 1999/2000
The last time you won a title in the top league was the old Division 1 in 1991/92.
Yes, they were 'massive' then under Revie in the old First Division but that was 20 years ago man ! It don't count any more !
I'm sure given time, you will return to the Premiership and start winning things but after an absence from top level footy of approaching 10 years you won't find it as easy as you think - it's a very tough league and miles away from the Championship in terms of skill, speed and standard.
Big club ? Hate to say it but just look at the top of the Premiership - those are big clubs. I'm just happy we are there with them in the same league, occasionally beat them and still make profits and have no debt and won't do a Portsmouth.
Anyway Tuscany, a good debate and best of luck for the rest of the season.
This was The Baggie Man
the baggie man..... I must say your club is run very well, financially, and sustainable position etc..
though, Arsenal and Chelsea 'bigger clubs' than Leeds? - well more susccesful in recent times but bigger for the reasons above, I'm not sure to be fair
At least on this issue LIW agree. Yes Bates came in before we looked like going into admin. But if he hadn't come along, we would have got a 10 point deduct from which we may have survived the drop. Someone would have come in to pick up the pieces, and got a bargain with little or no debts remaining. In fact one has to wonder why Bates didn't wait to get a cheaper deal?
Could it be he needed time to set things up first before calling in the administrators? Cynic I maybe, but he has too much history to ignore these things.
