Long term I want us to be qualifying for the Champions League. But if we finish 5th or lower and win one or two cups, I think this will be a very good season.

If we win a cup, it's a good season, if we get cup & 4th, then it's a great season!

A cup, we arent going to look back 20 years and say "we made the champions league blah blah blah"

Average season = Carling Cup 5th

Good Season = Carling Cup + 4th Place

Good season = FA Cup Win + 4th place + Carling Cup win

What else could we ask for if 3rd place is out of reach?

decent progress from the season before. if we win a cup all the better but we must keep narrowing the gap to the top of the league.

i remember under rafa we started around 23 points behind and over a few seasons managed to reduce that down to 4 i think it was before everything went pete tong thanks to our previous owners.

The Carling Cup and ideally fourth spot would be a good season after the last few. Adding the FA cup would be icing on the cake for this season.

Fifth place in the league would be academic if we win the cup as we would be in the Europa League anyway.

I won't be happy until we won everything, by christmas.
