why do so many people try and tell others what they should and should not post? its seems people read what they want rather than what is written,knee jerk reaction and name calling does not substitute for reality. Mr.doughty's tremendous support was thrown in his face by a very significant amount of forest fans in the end, its unpalletable but there it is..im sure any future owners will consider this ,before bothering getting involved with any football clubs. Is it really worth it? Its a sad day when daring to mention this aspect of yesterdays tragedy is not allowed.do we really learn anything from RIP platitudes...

Unfortunately every club has its WUMS, who sometimes take the banter towards the idiotic and moronic. John Fallen and McWoanz have proved this point if nothing else.

As other people have pointed out above, the OP was to express sympathy with Forest as a club for their tragic loss. Nearly every contribution to the article has expressed sympathy and, while some of us might find the timing of jf's comments somewhat insensitive, he is as he said, entitled to his view.

It seems to me that it's you who's the sad act, who simply can't handle the fact that the majority of City fans are honest decent people who don't fit into the narrow stereotype you would like them to.

Nobody invited you on here and every time you visit we have to disinfect the place, so if you don't like what you read here, micturate off back to your own board – though I expect you're non too popular there either.

john fallen - Maybe I've lost track somewhere along the line, but so I recall free speech gives you the right to say or write something and not get put into jail as a political prisoner. It doesn't mean that you get to write something that many Forest fans would see as offensive on the basis that you're "just saying it how it is" and expect no come-back on it. You've written something that shows our fans in a bad light on a public forum, so why shouldn't people state that you're wrong? And if you don't understand the value of RIP platitudes, why couldn't you just leave them to people who do?

McWoanz - The fact that you continue to go down that line and against so many of us on an article designed to show sympathy to you and your fans over the death of a fellow fan is contemptible.

R.I.P Nigel Doughty

I do see where JF is coming from, I personally cannot stand people who mock and abuse others when they are alive and then act all innocent when that person is no longer around. But I do think JF could have left these particular criticisms for a week or two and let the dust settle on this terrible news.

Im sure mr.Doughty found the campaign he endured offensive to the extent he stood down, as I have said,if highlighting the full picture is offensive to forest fans,im sure they will let me know. I can take any reasoned comeback from anybody, rather than just inane name calling. I suppose highlighting the racist chanting would offend some forest fans as well,so lets not face reality and just keep patting each other on the back.I feel in the light of Mr. Doughty's death how he was treated while alive was something that should not be just brushed under the carpet ,rather than being a subject that shall not speak its name.
