Ferris and Davies are both cited

That rather strikes me as citing Ferris for the sake of citing him - didn't they have enough paperclips to push round?

I can understand why both were cited, its probably a kneejerk reaction - every incident of a 'tip tackle' (how silly does this sound already) will lead to a citing in the near future.

However I do not feel Ferris should receive any suspension.

I reckon Davies will probably see about 4-6 weeks. Maybe get it down to 3-4 if he just admits it was a stupid over-reaction to Ryan's counter-rucking and that there was no intent to hurt.

Whether there actually was an intent to hurt I'm not sure. Tip tackles are getting a daft amount of attention at the mo (we're not talking about spear tackles and driving them into the ground). And I don't agree with Davies being an idiot and dumping him on the ground, but I also think the 'off-the-ball' argument is being overstated - was no-one else coached to take players off their feet and onto the ground at the ruck if you weren't able to ruck them backwards? (I wasn't coached to physically lift and tip them in front of the ref/touch judge though!)
