Redfearn could be a dark horse??
I think for those reasons redders will get it..... good luck to him, not saying he'd be my first choice but wouldnt be gutted
Could be another O'Leary, which would be great. But once O'Leary became boss he stopped being 'mates' with the team and developed a toughness, this ultimately meant Hasselbaink left us but I would have done the same thing if in O'Leary's shoes.
I think if this is something Redfearn could adapt too then all the better, I like tough managers, they earn more respect and dicsipline which is what any football club needs.

He got on Kewels back about not going to Australia to play for country too... though I think you'd need to toughen up I suppose.... plus, what happens when they don't toughen up is you get a Steve Mclaren...
Its one game against 9 men Bristol.
I think he could take us forward, however, if he is in charge at the weekend and we do poorly you can guarantee that half the people saying he can do the job would be spitting blood.
If he wins at the weekend, then I think the job is his for the taking, unless of course Bates has someone exceptional lined up.

I Bates has come out to say he'll be in charge for at least the next 3 games. That's only another week or so mind.
To my mind the players are going to support him as they have no real reason not to. They hardly will want to burn bridges if there was a chance he was going to be manager. I just hope that whatever decision is made it's for the good of LUFC and with a mind to getting us promoted asap.

What I meant to say is that if he wins at the weekend then he will (and perhaps should) have his name on the shortlist for the job. I didnt actually mean it was his if he won.
However WW, I am sorry but I just cant agree with your 'if it means he gets the job I hope we lose' statement.
I cant ever see a situation where I want us to lose, Bates is smart enough. To employ the man he thinks is right for the job, and while I think a wwin at the weekend will do Redfearns chances no harm at all, I still think Bates would want to discuss things with other managers first and appoint who he thinks is best after that.
I think this decision gives him the chance of the job. I'm sure they'll interview two or three candidates and if he gets 7 points think he'll make it to the table.
