"What Evra was accused of saying is not against the law."
Oh, I think threatening violence is indeed against the law!
Two questions to the floor here
Why has Ms Abbot not been hounded to hell by the meeja, and Will Ms Abbot be thrown out of her job ?
Don't know.
No. She didn't commit a criminal offence.
what if Evra had said "Why little white man" to Suarez?
ill tell you what...absolutely nothing would have happened because (a) surez would not have whinged (b) society discriminates against the use of the word black but not white!. ridiculous
Neon...
Honest question here...is calling someone 'black' against the law? surely not? really...

"Where saying the n-word is not allowed to be used by either white's or black's"
Well correct me if im wrong but if you are black it is OK to call another black person a N? Please dont quote me on this and this just may be a silly boy basing his views of black people on rapping videos and Hollywood movies.
---------------------------------------
Exactly. That is the definition of racism. When it is ok for one race to say something but not for another. So until we clear these things up, the real things, then these silly little things the PC Brigade keep finding, aren't going to be dealt with.

In most countries none of this stuff is unlawful. If you make such comments you will be ridiculed or condemend accordingly as per free speech, but not charged with a crime. It's a silly law to have on the books because of the nuances and subjectivity involved.

Evra should have left instances like this on the pitch.
yes admittedly he may have been offended and angered, but winding the opposiion players up during a game is, now, part and parcel of the sport.
Now look at the case of Roberto Carlos, who had a banana thrown at him during a recent game....
-------------------------------------------
I think that is wrong however. If indeed Suarez did say, "because you're black" then Evra has every right to bring this up. Leaving it on the pitch is ridiculous. The problem is, we don't know what was said, neither did the FA but they ruled on it.
I do find it quite pathetic that one initiates the argument then goes running to the authorities when he can't take the comeback. No abuse is worse than another be it racial, skin colour, hair colour or weight. So it shouldn't be treated as such and whilst it is, we are going to have these problems, as a big thing is made out of race.

Why are people continuing to defend Suarez? A player who is not adverse to cheating, biting and insulting players?
What's up white boy?
What's up black boy?
Which is more offensive. Ridiculous society

Why are people continuing to defend Suarez? A player who is not adverse to cheating, biting and insulting players?
--------------------------------------------
Because he was found guilty of something without evidence to suggest he did it. Whether he bit somebody or not is irrelevant. Furthermore if he cheats, then so does every other player. As for insulting players, Evra started this off, when Suarez fouled him, players insult each other, it happens. Strange however that Suarez received a four game ban for this but Evra was let off with what he said. It was not only insulting behaviour but he threatened bodily harm on Suarez. Call a black person black is somehow worse than actually punching somebody in this PC country.
>>Why are people continuing to defend Suarez?
Why do farts smell?
What colour is a chameleon on a plaid shirt?
Why is it when you transport something by car it’s called a shipment but when you transport by ship it’s called cargo?
How come you never read about a psychic winning the lottery?
Why??????
Curiosity killed the cat, but for a while Suarez was a suspect.
Re: There'sonlyoneReds
When I say cheating, i mean Suarez handball in the World Cup, not to mention his diving antics.
As for whether it's alright to call a black person, black, it depends on the context. If Suarez pinched Evra's arm and said "it's because your black" then that itself is judging Evra on his colour and is racist. The fact is, Suarez admitted to it and was punished. Dalglish has said the case is over (although he was quick to run his mouth that Suarez shouldn't have been banned in the first place) So why are people continuing to try and justify what Suarez said?
If Terry is found guilty, then he'll get his due punishment. I for one won't be offering any pathetic accuses for him.

Suarez never admitted to that. Ever. Not in any report, not in any statement, not anywhere.
Yet you (and thousands of others) were deceived by the media to the point that you think he did.
Hope that clears things up for you

Lots of players have handled the ball. In fact lots of players have broken the rules, fouled intentionally, handled the ball, pulled the shirt of a player. So every player in football is a cheat?
Lot's have players dive, nearly every player.

This is all wrong. Suarez did not admit to that. He admitted to asking "why, black?". This is not racial abuse, no matter what context it is in.
The FA chose to believe Evra's version that Suarez said "because you are black" the way Evra said that Suarez said it, is not correct in Spanish, so he couldn't have said that, the language experts confirmed same but the FA chose to ignore.
So why are people continuing to say we shouldn't back our player when the FA have banned him without evidence?
Thats why I said "IF" Suarez pinched Evra's arm and said what he said. Suarez was not a reliable witness and the commission found it easier to believe Evra.

It doesn't matter who they believe, to find somebody guilty you have to have evidence.
Furthermore the reasons the FA said they found Suarez unreliable, Evra committed the same offences, ie. changing his story. The FA also withheld evidence from Liverpool and employed a panel, they claimed independent, with one guy not qualified to be dealing with the case. One guy was the former manager of Ferguson's son.
