Wolves' Manager Hunt

My worry being that whoever they recruit, they benefit from the immediate feel good factor and renewed optimism generated amongst all concerned and get a vital, if only temporary lift.

I was suprised how poor QPR were at times against us. (Going 3-0 down to the Rovers takes some doing)! Although Hughes has spent some money and is an excellent manager, they looked to have severe problems at the back, including a sub-standard goalkeeper and he will be concerned after that showing. Time is hort however and it would appear they are in the mire till the end.

Little to choose between us, Bolton, QPR, Wolves and Wigan.

Bizare time to sack McCarthy if you ask me. The available and realistic replacements don't seem to be of a higher level than MM. Couldn't see Steve Bruce or Alan Curbishley making a huge impact, don't know about Brian Mcdermott enough to give an opinion.

Regardless of who they bring in I suppose it's the honeymoon period often experienced by new managers that we should be wary of, but Hughesy even with his new signings hasn't really experienced one so hopefully neither will the new Wolves man.

Hopefully they bring in ex player Paul ince. We can only dream...

Ince for Wolves would be the ideal scenario...

Personally I'm with Wils on this, big mistake to sack MM, seemed like a knee jerk reaction after being humiliated in their derby match.

Bruce and Curbishly are as good as they are going to get and neither strike any fear into me or Rovers chances of survival.

Well Bruce certainly doesn't but Curbishley's a good un. Mid-table with Charlton, top half with West Ham, very good manager in my opinion.

Yeah I know, but he has been out of the game a long time and is hardly a man exuding confidence and motivation...

He'd had time and money. Built a decent squad on paper but wasn't getting results. It's two thirds of the way through the season and there was no sign of things improving. I don't think the Wolve's board can be criticised for attempting to turn things around.

Looks like they're after Walter Smith now
which should be good news for us (hopefully)

Even Walter does not want the job!

We are so lucky to have an established manager with a strong backroom team

Seems they have appointed Terry Connor til the end of the season. From the reaction I have seen on facebook (I know, I know) a lot of the Wolves fan's aren't happy at all. See it as another nail in the coffin, so maybe this is good news for us Rover's fans as we seem to be relying on teams messing up more than we are this season!!!!

At least Connor was the assistant manager, imagine how they'd feel about having the first team coach put in charge!

Oh no they've got Terry Connor, we'll never survive...

Some more good work from Venkys today eh Mcteeth? Refuse to pay a club for a player you've bought off them and sell your best defender for £3-4m less than he's worth. I bet you're just itching to say I told you so.

Oh what, you mean this story...

Selling Samba is selling Samba, are we not accustomed to losing our best players sooner or later?

And while we are on topic, surely refusing to sell Samba to QPR for peanuts should be applauded.

The playing is simply refusing to play so getting double figure transfer fee for him is what we've wanted should he leave...

And whilst we are on the subject of selling defenders too cheaply, Warknock to Villa for 6m anyone...

Sorry mustn't criticise the Walker Trust

looks like a good move, Villa would struggle to get 6p for him now.

Not when Wayne Bridge was sold for 12m in the same season...

I thought Warnock was more like 8 million?

Market value is not based on what City are/were spending.

Back on point, I personally think getting doubles figures for Samba is still great business.

He has made his position in the club untenable so we are left with little choice.

you would do mcteeth, you cream yourself over everything Kean and Venkys do.

great timing too, now we can go and spend the money to aid our fight against relegation...

Refusing to sell him to another Prem rival was a good thing, the fact he point blank refuses to play now means we can only sell him to the highest bidder...

One of Kean's good points from a few weeks ago...

"Refusing to sell Samba and seemingly convinced him to play again"

So how did that work out again...

Note the use of the word seemingly...

Kean is quoted as saying that Samba had trained again with the first team and was hopeful he could play if fit and focused.

It is not his fault that he refused to play and wanted to go to Russia.

why such utter obsession with pinning anything negative you can against Kean?
