i just say that and brighton score, typical
Also, look at Reading!!! They could potentially beat West Ham to 2nd now.
It just shows what you can do when you actually hold on to the bulk of your first team instead of refusing to offer them proper contracts and letting them go for nothing at the end of each season
Win at boro tomorrow and we will only be 3 points from sixth spot and hope cardiff get beat at bristol city
"all results going our way"
Except our own. Sad when we seem to make more progress when not playing.
Being realistic, this season is over. We need to just enjoy each game on its own.
better reading win today,we cant catch reading anyway, they just won 8 on the trot, beating leicester was best for us as they could have passed us
The author of this article is over enthusiastic.
We need to average over 2 points a game to make the playoffs.
It will not happen this season.
dont think i am being enthusiastic, apart from the top3 the rest are no better than us
But also no worse. Joe, if you look at the number of points behind that we are and the number of games in hand many of the teams above us have, the probability of us climbing 4 or 5 spaces with 11 games left for us is pretty remote.
Joe its not about them being no worse it's about how many points you need for playoffs, we need 2 points per game even top team in division don't get that many points per game.
You need to take a reality check I'm afraid.

To be fair Reading did lose Mills and Long, but i suppose they got excellent transfer fees for the pair rather than losing them for nothing or way under their value.
On the other hand they have done exceptionally well to extend the contract of winger Kebe. They have signed Cywka from Derby in January and Jason Roberts which gives them a very good squad to achieve auto promotion.
SKB, at least it appears that when they sell, they use the funds to buy others. As opposed to us where we sell players and then use the profits to balance our books (see accounts for the last 2 years).
So.......................we need to Average 2pts per game and that is unlikely ...................But it's Not Impossible is it ?, I have never and will never write off the chances of Leeds United until it's proved totally impossible for the Club to achieve it's target .
Ok maybe i'm a wee bit over optimistic but as long as there's a chance that's the way i am .
Highland, whose knockers do you want out or is that a new name for the chairman?
After 35 games last year Reading were in 10th place on 51 points (we currently have 50) and 6 points behind 6th place Leeds. The only difference this season is that games in hand are distorting the table so it could and probably will be more.
They sold Mills for 5million and Long for 7million, great business!
As opposed to us selling our most valuable asset, Gradel for 1.75million and also letting Beckford go for free, only to watch Everton make 4million off him the next season
Also Reading had plenty other out of contract players who could have left last Summer including Robson-Kanu, Leighterwood, Gunnarsson etc but they offered them all proper contracts, and hence Reading are where they are this season, while we find ourselves in midtable where we belong
Until we start offering competitive wages, the situation will continue, with or without NW.

Highland show me any team in our entire division that has averaged 2 points per game and then you'll see how unrealistic it really is.
last season after 53 games reading had 1 point more than we have this season and ended up in 5th about 3-4 points clear of 7th.
If we can start scoring goals again there's no reason why we cant go on a similar run
If you look at the final Championship table for the last 6 years you'll see that 70 points is rarely good enough for 6th placed playoff finish, 75 points is a more realistic estimate
For us this season, that means somehow grinding 25 points out of the possible remaining 33 (11 games left)
i.e.
7 wins
1 draw
3 losses
I think that kind of form is unlikely.
Cardiff currently winning also which doesn't help our cause. Think we can get a win tomorrow, but with West Ham's poor draw today they will be even more motivated to take 3 points against us next week.
We have 50 points from 35 games (1.43 points per game) and some believe we can get 25 points from 11 games (2.27 points per game) with the same/weaker squad than the first part of the season.
WOW!!!!
A tad bit overly optimistic?
Stead equalised for Bristol City
Sorry, my mistake! We actually need 8 wins + a draw realistically from our remaining 11 games, that means winning all our home games and at least 2 of our the away fixtures.
Impossible is nothing!
