Why do Blackburn fans hate Kean so much?

a) Peculiar timing to make this article when we're congratulating Kean for the win today.

b) A lot of what you said is incorrect and also a bit naive.

c) He's not easy to like as a person but hate is a strong word.

Maybe its all the lies and deceit that he comes out with, what do you think?

Exactly, tell me why that Blackburn team has a right to be better than at least ten EPL teams?

QPR and Wolves both spent far more than them, yet look where they are.

It's not a right but previous seasons before Kean showed we are stronger than our league position suggests.

We're not usually in the bottom half at all. When Kean arrived we'd finished 10th the season before and we're in mid-table. Going back to managers before that we finished in the top half 3 seasons in a row under Hughes and 2 in a row under Souness.

Kean still gets criticised because changing your mind after each result is fickle and pretty idiotic. Yes we won today against the worst team in the league, but that doesn't suddenly make him a good manager.

Yes you're right, if he wins games he should keep his job. He's won 10 games out of 49.

Skandinavian

But the owners have sold a lot of his good players and he has tried to freshen up the squad with younger players and give them a chance.

Not really. Samba and Jones have gone, admittedly a solid defensive duo but he's spent a decent amount on replacements and frozen out a number of decent players.

The side is young but it is still stronger than this position.

I am sorry, we are not normally in the bottom half at all. Have a look at the past seasons performances before Kean came in charge, I believe we finished in the top 10, 6 times in the last 10 seasons. We had a good team that had finished 10th the season before Kean came in, and when SA got fired, IF we had beaten Bolton believe we would have been in 7th or 8th in the league. We then collapsed and nearly got relegated. This is our first clean sheet in 31 games which says it all about our defensive organisation. He also had (and probably still does have won of the worst win ratios in the leagues history) but dont let that get in the way of your argument.
Yes we won today, Wolves were terrible though. But I am not gonna let that take away any of my happiness for the result, or criticise anyone to do with Rovers today, it was a good solid performance from everyone involved at Rovers. Yes that includes Kean.

Wish other fans would let us enjoy a win though without constantly coming on here and bigging Kean up or saying 'Why do you want him out?' when we do manage to win. The debate has been done to death, Kean looks like he is slowly improving, although I do think SA would be so so much better. We have a long way to go still but if we perform like that every game for the rest of the season I will be a happy man.

But please, let us enjoy this victory, without trying to wind everyone up.

because come on lets face it you're not one of the better teams in the league anyway, you're usually down at the bottom half.

Im just saying, that even all Over twitter fans are gappy with the win but would follow it up with #keanout which makes me think if the fans arent behind him when he wins theres no motivation to do well

He has feelings too!

To be fair you could say that about Arsenal fans and Wenger this season to. No one on here is doing that are the about Kean so I see that as little relevance. I am sure when Arsenal win i could find examples on twitter of people doing that with Wenger to.
You saying we are not one of the better teams in the league and always finish low down has been shown up aswell, we are doing worse than what we have come to expect from our performances in the league in seasons gone by. Credit to Kean he got it right today, happy now?!
Let us enjoy the win, rather than trying to get a rise out of everyone.

Okay, i got the bit wrong about you usually been bottom half but i just felt that your squad isnt good enough to be doing much better, i just thought there were some other reasons you wanted him out

Do take your point there Sagna, not sure there's a need to go on about wanting him sacked after victories as some fans tend to do. I would say that comes about from things that he's done/said outside of just his results. For example:

1. Rumours that he engineered Allardyce's sacking.
2. Constantly sucking up to Venkys.
3. Persistently lying about the protests from day 1, saying things like "its only 1%" and "the majority are behind me".
4. Lying to the fans on other matters, like his claims before the Cardiff cup defeat that we were trying to win the tournament and then saying afterwards that we forfeited the game to concentrate on the league. Saying players are injured when they're not being played for contractual reasons. Saying he didnt see the protest plane after being caught on camera looking directly at it.
5. Driving drunk, then claiming one of the fans must have spiked his drink in court (judge specifically accused him of lying).

There's a few other things that have made it personal as well as professional for the fans. Maybe thats harsh or maybe he should have made more of an effort to keep us onside.

thanks thats kinda what i was wondering when i asked the questions but looking back i couldve worded my article differently to sound less like a

Im sorry guys, enjoy your win

posted on 10/3/12

I agree that fans don't need to go on about a sacking after a win, but no-one on here is. If you watch MoTD Sagna you will see our fans were fantastic today and got right behind everyone at Rovers. I just wish people would stop bringing this up when we do win, his flaws have not just vanished. Even if he has improved tactically recently. I just want to enjoy the win, like I said, credit to Kean today, he got his tactics right and that meant we got our first clean sheet in 31 games. Long may the clean sheets and wins continue!

Possibly the drink driving, the lies, the stabbing in the backing (if that is real) the poor displays etc etc etc.

Sagna

Sorry as well if I cam across badly, just wanna enjoy the win. Your right, fans dont need to go on about getting rid of Kean when things are improving, but I think the fans are getting behind everyone at Rovers at the mo.
Good luck in your season, hoping we can play you guys again next year, and not lose 7-1

posted on 10/3/12

Nah its all right. As you can probably imagine we've been criticised over our attitude to Kean about 10,000 times this season and after a while you tend to become a bit snappy and defensive. To be honest I still enjoy the discussions in a weird sort of way, its more activity on the board at least.

Anyway thanks!

posted on 10/3/12

yeah i hope we can play you next year aswell usually good games between us

Kean is the new Wenger, took a decent squad over and has (in spite of brief decent moments) made us worse month on month!

posted on 10/3/12

nah, Wenger made a good squad with the likes of Henry, Pires and so on, but he couldn't build on it once those players moved on

posted on 10/3/12

He added a bit of flair to Graham's team, since he's had to build a team from front to back he's failed. Kean on the whole has not been able to put a good team together all season...

posted on 10/3/12

yeah thats true, I guess Wenger was blessed with a defence with Dixon, Adams, Bould, Winterburn, Seaman but he has failed to ever replicate that solidity.

In fairness, Kean did get you the Yak but thats pretty much it i suppose

posted on 10/3/12

Nah, he got us Bruno Ribeiro and Myles Anderson too.

I think what p155es other fans off about Blackburn "fans" is the Kean Out banners during the game. I don't even know if that still goes on, but it certainly has gone on.

Think what you like, say what you like, but for 90 minutes, get behind the team, 100%, no discussion, no compromise.

Blackburn are one of my least favourite (goes back to Souness' men against boys jibe) English team, but I hope you stay up, just so Steve Kean can point 2 digits at the nay-sayers among you.
