trouble is the ones that might work will be playing in the next gen series wont they?
I mean Sterling and Coady, those are 2 i would like given a shot in the first team.
I've been saying it all season, probably won't get a chance, we will continue with the current dross
agreed honest...
sterling , suso should be at least given a shot
Agree wholeheartedly honestlivpool_five_times, I've been saying this for ages.
If they are good enough, they are old enough. Some of the youngsters surely couldn't do much worse than one or two of the first team regulars are doing at the moment.
Yes lets play the youths and plummet further down the table and Everton will finish above us
It's worth pouting out our reserve team outplayed Everton last week in the ressies and four of those Everton players went into the first team the game after.
Sterling, Suso and Coady would all be fine to start from the bench.

We're already going down the table and I don't see how trying out youngsters could be any worse...

===================
Exactly!
Everton had the likes of (the great ) Rodwell and Barkle, and also had the likes of Coleman, Jagielka, Anichebe, etc who all normally play for the first team..
I'm not normally one that would turn to youth players to get out of a bind, but we're not in a bind, are we? Our season is over.
Also, it's notoriously difficult to blood youngsters when there is a lot at stake; why not give one, maybe two a go when there's nothing much to play for?
I would have absolutely no problem with someone like Coady being given game time between now and the end of the season. The very worst case scenario is that he puts in a performance resembling what Adam has produced recently. Is that honestly so unbearable? The same probably goes for Sterling in light of Downing's horrid output this season, although realistically he would have to wait until the likes of Maxi are given a go first (Dalglish seems determined not to play Maxi, mind).
I struggle to think of a better time that you could possibly use to try out a youngster or two; it's not often that you could hand-on-heart tell him beforehand that there's no pressure on him since our season's petering out and, more importantly, the player he's keeping out of the team can have no genuine qualms about being dropped.
Sterling, Suso, Coady, Adorjan, Lucas - the future of LFC!!!
By the way, Adorjan never gets mentioned on here but he is going to be a superstar!
Here here...
I was just thinking the same thing earlier.
Give the youngsters a taste. Let the under performers realise that if they're not prepared to knuckle down and put in the effort that justifies pulling on that red jersey, then there are others who want it. The idea that an academy youngster might be better than them might give them an incentive to pull their socks up.
