I wasnt complaining about being called a bad loser MonDieu. I was just pointing out that one of the players from the team whose supporters are whinging that 30-9 didnt really count as a win at all, stated last week that the english are bad losers. from what i can see, the evidence is suggesting that its the other way around. i dont see how pointing this out makes one a bad winner. i wouldnt have had to have made the point if it wasnt for all the whinging.

The nastiness regarding economic bailouts sounds like a cheap shot to me.

That was low. Ireland supporter, by that you mean me and i wont stand by an have you sling crap my way.

Indeed Ireland were mullered and i have not denied that but i have in fact commended England for pinpointing our failings and capitalizing! If you want to come in to a discussion after it has ended just to ignite the fire again it reflects rather badly on you.
Also if you would be so kind as to allow me and anyone else to analyze a game of rugby that would be most kindly welcomed. The fact that our analyses is made all to simple by what happened in the scrum does not however diminish what was an excellent display by England but does explain why we lost. Further more if you don't like what I,we, them and the bloody Rugby press at large are saying i suggest to you that its you who does not like the fact that it was not exactly a vintage beating but can be pinpointed to a specific area.

I thought England deserved their second place, and quite honestly it was a game that was so close to call, only a situation like the one that occurred could have produced the margin. When they saw they had an advantage they exploited it and thats what they should have done. SO to suggest that we undervalue your victory is pathetic.

Lastly,
As i have been on this board from the beginning, much of that time alone, posting article after article just keeping the rugby section going, and enjoying the banter with other long term users from England, Wales and other, im quite disappointed that now after a decent win for you, you allow yourselves to descend into trash talk and off topic blatant cheap shots.

The scrum won the game for England. Fair is fair, we lost and we got smashed. But we are allowed to comment on the facts without partisan BS coming flying at us because you dont agree

My comments were over the top and unnecessary actually. I think I was just venting a bit of steam left over from the run in I had with those irish lads in rio. I sat watching the game for half an hour whilst they slagged off everything about english rugby, then everything about england, before i gave them a piece of my mind. they didnt say very much for the rest of the game, but there were still mutterings of how boring england were when we were ahead in the 2nd half - even though it was the most expansive wed been in years (they thought we should have been taking tap penalties rather than kicking the points).

Anywho, on review, most of the comments on this thread seem to be fairly well balanced, and i apologise if i was out of line on this occassion

I take the point that posters have recognised that england were the better side on the day, which i think is meritorious. hopefully all sides will continue to improve over the next 12 months so that we get another 6 nations as competitive as this one.

That quite alright.

Sry to be represented badly by a few tools over there. It goes without saying that we all have them and we dont want that kind of representation. For what its worth it sounds like they didn't have a clue what they were talking about, calling this years England team boring is a bit dim witted.

As for the teams improving over the next 12 months, I think its a sure thing for Wales and England. Tho i think England's Progress will depend largely on what the RFU do about Lancaster and his position. He has earned a contract in my book and should get it. Hope he keeps the backroom team behind him also.. They are doing a hell of a job. For me the above all brilliance of what Lancaster has done, has been to throw away all the nonsense and give the players a real hunger to play for their country with honor and respect. If you lot dont want him... I would take him in Ireland.

I fear for us however. We go to New Zealand for a 3 game tour in 3 months, What the hell are we going to offer against that lot. A team we have never beaten in 120 odd years of meetings. What has been proved to us this weekend is that we are under powered in terms of the bench. Its just that simple, we rely totally on our best 15 and when one goes down its a massive gap to be filled, the exception would be the back row where we are producing a decent amount of good players.

pointless debate when we have another year and a lot more rugby to play. Based on the last 6 months and how the next 12 months will materialise I think the team will look something like this:

1) Sheridan
2) Mears
3) Murray
4)Shaw
5)Schofield
6)Powell
7)Best
8)Jones (c)

9) Care
10) Parks
11) Simpson-Daniel
12) Flutey
13) O'Driscoll
14) Fitzgerald
15) Lamont

A couple of debatable points I know but I genuinely believe this team has the best balance and has a wealth of lions experience. The Aussies would get dismantled by this team!!

Mate while i respect your opinion i have to say that team will never ever ever even come close to happening, not even thinking about some of your players being in positions they have never played.

Liontamer- you must be joking!! i hope you are !!

Dingbatman- what would be your Lions team if we were picking for a tour right now?

posted on 20/3/12

DingBat. I fail to see which players are out of position. If you're referring to the wingers as you have been blabbering on about through this whole article, a world class winger should be able to step off both feet and pass off both hands which is what simpson daniel and fitzgerald can do. AND tommy bowe for that matter (if you've had chance to watch any super rugby you'll see hosea gear and cory Jane switch between 15 and wing and rod davies and digby ioane swap wings for the reds frequently). The lions need this dynamism and unpredicatbility to win the tour and if a winger can't then they shouldn't be considered for playing . If your on about best at 7, well he's played 6, 7 and 8 throughout his career and offers great balance with jones and powell in the back row with him. Not many back rows can compete with that at the moment. The locks can, and have played both sides of the row. Don't really see why people have problems with this team. It definitely isn't a "playstation" dream team and offers a greater balance than any other team on here. Sure there's an argument to play Hook instead of Flutey or Wilkinson instead of Parks but there is plenty of room for manouvre.........

Lion ye im talking about the wing position. and there are some as u say who can play both sides but not many and not Fitzgerald.

7 openside flanker. One of the pivitol position on the pitch not just requiring a vary specific skill set but even a specific build to the player. 7 being one of the most difficult positions in international rugby you put best in there who has never ever played 7, is a 6 only, a destructive ball carrier and a man built in the perfect form for the 6 position.

Powell at 6??
Lamont at 15???
Parks at 10 RETIREDDDDDDDDDDDDD

The list goes on but im not going to insult u to prove a point, fact is i stopped reading your last comment after the first line but i think your pretty transparent

If you think firing an insult at me after you have named

Dingbat - That's not the problem I have with that team. The problem I have is only a few of those played in the 6N, and even less of them performed to any standard. The inclusion of Flutey, Powell and S-D is laughable imho.

Hey MonDieu: Actually wanted to talk to you, how is the feeling on france after the game? are heads rolling? I imagine the press are savaging some of them.

This guy above i dont know what hes talking about to be honest, if you look at the team there is only one or two players who has a chance of getting in the Lions Sqaud not even the first team. I think he joined the board recently and looks to be a trolling type. So ignore and move on is probably the best course of action.

I have a feeling you know something I don't, Dingbat. I'm Welsh rather than French (my name is confusing in that regard) They got a pretty good reception by all accounts.

One of the best things I saw on the Sunday was a sign saying " Welcome to Wales: Please drive quietly. The nation has a hangover."

LMAO!

Sry mate, i know there is someone here who lives in France married to a French girl, now i can't remember who it is! Anyway congrats on the GS! well deserved and a pretty good game against the French at the weekend. They never looked like they would be ruining the party.

TBH, I thought both the Scotland and Italy teams looked stronger than the French. They seem to have an inherent problem with the half backs and very poor coaching/management at international level. I really don't know where they go from here.

I think Liontamer's side has merit - well in a non-rugby fashion - can you imagine Powell & Care out on the lash, it'd be the equivalent of dropping the H-bomb (from a golf cart) on the opposition!

I think its fairly safe to say he's "extracting the Michael", though I think its in good taste and amusingly done - shame there's no Cipriani, Tindall and Chilcott though, plus McBride in their too - not so much a tour as an actual invasion!

They'd probably have to as every airline would have banned them - get Nick Popplewell in their too - quick story for you as told to me by Martin Bayfield

On a Lions tour in Australia (?), he and Johnson were second row behind Popplewell, Lions leading slightly, latish in the game its scrum time. Scrum is set, oppostion front row to Popplewell "Oi, Popplewell, I "had relations with" your sister, does that make us family" Scrum breaks up, fists thrown, ref gives warning, scrum resets, Bayfield and Johnson are concerned, Popplewell (in excessively twee accent) "I'm not sure about family but it does make us even" scrum breaks up, lots of fists, opposition player carded!
