I actually miss the planet scanning

The catalyst was The Citadel

You're right about there being many many more questions and this game being worse than 2 but as a whole trilogy the series was brilliant. There was just so much more they could've done. Hell make the game multiple disks(even on bluray) and charge more for the game. ME3 wasn't enough, I wanted more.

Annoying the game all of a sudden became primarily about Shepard when both 1 and especially two were about your squad an the relationships with them. They cut out the human side to the story.

I'm at LAX right now. Bad reception.

2. Was the post-credits meant to suggest the entire Shepard story was told by a man to his son rather than actually happening? So a bit of a I woke up and it was a dream moment. If so that would annoy me so much as well.

My views on that were either:

Shepard had become so much of a legend that he was known through out the Galaxy. I'm assming the two people were humans so that's more of a reason. It could have been in the future because the man says that there are so many worlds etc, relays could have still of been destroyed, hence telling him about Shepard.

Or (although unlikely) it could have been someone from your squad/team years in the future telling their children etc.

There's ment to be some DLC coming out next month that will add to the ending of the game, what ever ending you chose etc. Not sure if that's true though but a few websites have said they expect it since Bioware said they were taking fans feedback on the ending for their next DLC release.

I'm almost absolutely sure those big decisions made a difference. I killed the Rachni Queen in the first and they were thought to have been extinct in 3 but we found out they were abominations. If I had let her live maybe they would've had a more distinct role this time around.

Also I think maybe the council would cooperate more in both 2 and 3 if you saved them in 1. I know the council have been a thorn in my side since I let them die in part 1.

Anywho, back to my trilogy play through \\m// rock on!

Gazza, agree with pretty much everything. Welcome to the fold! I also chose the synthesis ending.

RtM, without trying to spoil anything, I've done all the decisions both ways now and they've barely affected the story, in my opinion. That was one of my gripes, that the decisions seem to have very little proper impact, particularly to do with the ending (where they have none). Council are still the same @rseholes they always were whichever group they are, and they still make/keep you as a Spectre regardless.

That and squad interaction, the fact your ME2 squad mates take a backseat in this game (I've decided to dump Miranda again for Liara as I know I won't see her much and the romance scene is virtually non-existent).

No, all 3 endings deal with them in some way. Apparently there are 16 variations of them though. Mostly minor.

My take on the final scene with the man and boy is that it's in the future on the planet they crash landed on. Shepard's become a sort of legend with humans. The feeling I got was that it had religious connotations with 'the Shepard' and he has become an icon akin to Jesus (as silly as that sounds writing it down...), with people relating his 'miraculous' exploits down the years.

Yeah I agree. I went with synthesis as it seemed the 'nicest' ending for my paragon playthrough. I'm stuck between the other two though as they make control out to be bad by pushing that it's what TIM wanted all along, but also destroying the Reapers will destroy synthetics like EDI. Can't work out which is worse, although I think I'll choose control on my mostly renegade one. Although you do have to sacrifice yourself to do it, which seems a sort of noble thing to do...

Bah. Why can't they be clear-cut?!

I think so, although the Catalyst doesn't expressly say you for synthesis (I think it's just a given). Which then makes it a harder choice, as my renegade wouldn't want to sacrifice to save everyone (if we boil it down to simple terms), but as you said, the control option seems the 'worst' choice in terms of morality given its what TIM wanted all along.

Yeah I got the CE version of the game so got a few extras including the DLC.

He's not what I expected a Prothean to be like! Don't use him often though as he doesn't really complement my style of play.
