You have to tell them what you would like to discuss to register. Don't waste your energy Wazza.

Surprise surprise surprise <sarcasticsmilie>

How do you know that Iwas? it doesn't mention it on the Register page.

I clicked on the link and it is a field asking you if you have a subject you would like to discuss. I just looked again and there is a 'no' option.

Selecting 'yes' opens a subject box.

I'm still of the mind that some selections may be more random than others.

Ok. You may as well mention your subject as it says the attendees will be picked at 'random'

I've been to about 4 of these. He gives good answers to be fair and they have their answers prepared.

I think these will be aimed at 'spelling it out' to the fans (like Wassa, Uncle Tom Cobley etc) who think that millions of pounds are coming into the club (from fans) and nothing coming in (from GSE/Owners).

Sadly, it's a lot of talk, a lot of "we understand and we're doing our best to make Derby competitive, but by being responsible".

If you expect any revelations, dont waste your time.

That sounds about right Mostyn. As I suspect the club will remain stagnant at best for the foreseeable then.

Mostyn
I only say that because if I said what I really think, I would be locked up.
The thing is, there's a lot more starting to think like me, and not like you around around glick.

posted on 21/3/12

Mostyn, do you think GSE are still investing?

posted on 21/3/12

Iwas, I think they have to invest. The running costs and obligations are still more than what comes in on attendances, sponsorship, TV money, merchandise etc.

They are not throwing money at the team, but they did when Jewell was in charge and they have wasted loads and loads of money under Clough.

Some people dont see it.

If someone goes into the bookies and puts £50 on a horse that loses, then walks away, it looks like a bad gamble. But if someone else goes into the bookies and places 25 x £3 bets, some come in, some lose. Who put the most money up for gambling?

GSE with both Clough and Jewell seem to have gone down the scattergun approach, lots of small investments.

I told Appleby that had they gone down the proper sensible route of improving 3 players a season, after 3 seasons, you've bought 9 good players and added to the decent ones you inherited you have a good team. We blew it with constant high-turnover of poor quality players.

But in short, yes, they've 'invested'. Wisely? NO!

You get to sound more like glicks glove puppet every time you come on here.
glicks statements are the same now as 4 years ago, he does'nt say anything different.
Same old rubbish is churned out every time he opens his mouth.

tom glick is full of plop.

posted on 21/3/12

why uncle tom/colin263?

Because I think that bringing in 55 different players in 3-4 years is about 35 too many? That's 35 x wasted money!

posted on 21/3/12

I agree with Mostyn, ive always said the amount of players that clough has moved in probably weights up to the amount we expect to see invested! if you think back how many players he has signed on loan in previous seasons all of which comand small fees as well as overhaul we seem to get every summer.

How can anyone trust gse? I for one am not renewing my season ticket!! Even if I do get a recorded message off Barker.

posted on 21/3/12

Mostyn. What did Appleby say when you told him that?

posted on 21/3/12

He said it was an interesting point of view and he appreciates my 'insight'. Obviously I'm being fobbed off, but he answers with questions which proves he's reading the content of my email.

He was quite taken aback by criticism of his/their motives and his response was "but we signed like 9 players in the summer, for a small fortune!"

Yes I know he has signed a fair few players, but where are they now? He has had to get rid of them as told by Tom Glick. I suspect a lot of the players were loans from last season, and where are they now? We keep getting false promises from GSE. It would be interesting to see how many loan players we have brought in since GSE have been here.

posted on 21/3/12

The problem GSE have got is that they don't understand that we know the value of a team in this league. And we know that we can't put one together
and slash the budget again.

We also know GSE have failed and its time for them to go and whatever they say will not change that fact.

This will bore some (we are entitled to our own opinions afterall) but I posted on the old 606 two or three years ago and stated that the investors would not be investing in DCFC! That was further to two separate conversations I had with two directors from two other football league clubs (who basically said 'beware' their motives).
As I posted recently:
The definition of an investor is "an individual who commits money to an investment product with the expectation of financial return."
Its that clear cut!
I have come across investors, Im afraid, in business...
'Prudent management' is Tom Glick's claim and will be his epitaph.
Its a smoke screen and b*******s as far as I am concerned.
Put up or shut up!

You really are delusional if you think appleby is going to let you or anyone else tell him how to buy players.
gse! = not one penny

Cropper would get torn in a new one in this he's so deluded he should support Leeds, Liverpool or Newcastle.

So I was right then, we have brought a hell of a lot of loans in since GSE have been here. What was one of our members saying, Nigel has brought in 35 players too many. Well theres your answer. Thanks Irish man for the stats.I'm with Simon on this one, "put up or shut up!"

Not sure what the fuss about loan signings is? Most clubs do the same thing nowadays. There are a number fo reasons for loaning players.
1/ You need a player but either cant afford to buy him or 2/ you aren't allowed to buy him because the windows shut so you borrow him instead with a view to buying

I reckon about 50/60% of them work out well for us and, of the ones Clough has signed on properly after a loan, 4 of the 6 have been good buys (Fielding, Robinson, Ward and Naylor), Cwyka debateable and Martin not so good.

Better to try before you buy, dont they say?
