Telegraph - Premier league finances

Morning all,

I've not got a lot to say here the links show all the figures, but last year we made £66 million in cashflow, think it's time for Levy to dig that wallet out, shake the cobwebs off, let the moths out and buy some players to improve our squad.

Also less than half the wage costs of Chelsea and only £8 million more than Villa spend!

I was thinking that - You are right in what you say alot of our current better players where during Commoli's days.

It would be nice to know what our current scouting netowork is like. Its pretty worrying when Harry says 'I've never heard of that player' !

Currently set to only look for players over 30 would be my best guess!

Haha...slightly worrying isnt it.

Redknapp seems to revel in his non-UK player ignorance.
I bet if he is told Coulibaly is a good prospect, he'd then ask which club/country he plays for/in.

With the Euro on the slide, even air fare is cheap for scouting forays.

RDBD - I know we seem to have blinkers on for the UK only atm. Thing is when I was young and Arry was at the he always seemed to get good players from overseas cheaply, and this was before the foreign invasion of the PL.

Euro scouting network is the main priority now.

If Damiao comes to Spurs, IMHO the Damiao/Sandro effect will open a big Brasil network for us (especially if our CL star continues to rise) .

Fingers crossed we can pull off the Damiao transfer now
