Barcelona B, are they for real?

I don't expect many of the Town first team to be playing and rightly so. It's a match for the kids! The fixture is on the eve of the kick off to the season. I don't think the attendance will be that good either. I'd certainly save my tenner for other things more productive!

Don't they know there are several matches in the first eight days?

Mon 13 Preston League Cup
Thu 16 Barcelona B Friendly
Fri 17 Cardiff City Championship
Tue 21 Forest Championship

Mirf, you'll have to give that Wikipedia a rest...I don't care who was born in L66ds..

.I was born in Huddersfield, and so was Simon Armitage, Andy Booth, David Brown, Roy Castle, James Hanson, George Herbert Hirst, Derek Ibbotson, Gordon Kaye, Anita Lonsbrough, James Mason, Zoe Lucker, Wilfred Rhodes, Chris Balderstone, John Whittaker, Harold Wilson, Bob McNab, Jodie Whittaker, Jon Stead, Ken Taylor, Alex Smithies, Fraizer Campbell, Trevor Cherry, Simon Charlton, Tony Galvin, Lena Headey, Cameron Jerome, Ryan Sidebottom, ...Ken Davy(?)...just to name a few.

Not bad for a small Town in Yorkshire, about 1/5th the size of L66ds..........

Huddersfield, the home of Rugby League...
1st team to win 3 championships on the trot...
UTT !

rugby league..

minority northern sport..

thats why they only have one shelf and a bit of a spinning rack in the club shop..

stop-start, big lads running into each other, far too much close male contact for my liking...bit dubious ...

have had enough time for it to "catch on", it hasnt, forget it...

38,

"minority northern sport"

Thas obviously never heard of London Bronchos and Catalan Dragons.

Stick to commenting on football and leave Rugby League to the real men of steel, who don't play the racist card at every verse end and couldn't care less what their opponents call them.

London and Catalan funded by the RFL. London especially with their 1,800 average crowd. If the RFL take this (unfair) funding away, would these clubs carry on??

Regional game, but the RFL do try to expand.

Second rate aussies can still trounce the creme de la creme of English last two seasons.

A game going backwards with little funding (see Bradford Bulls)

Giants season tickets back to normality next season, so those figures will be interesting too

Hold on minute 38, I've never claimed Rugby league is anywhere near as popular as Football, or that it wasn't a minority sport in comparison.

It was you who added the word Northern and I was just pointing out that it's also played in London and the South of France.

So perhaps in future you ought to read what I say before jumping to the wrong conclusion.

Btw. As I said earlier, it's a man's game played by real men and not the over paid and pampered divers and con men, which are becoming more and more common in the football world.

There is a strange dislike for RL by 38,,,, I agree with Mirf, A proper mans game, Played hard and usually fair with the utmost respect shown to referees,,, Was someone a bit too soft to enjoy the game ? Maybe scared that another fella being too close may excite him so much that he is embarrased ?? Very strange dislike of a physical sport by a self proffesed "Big Fella" ?,,,,,,, Am i strange in that i find i get more value for money watching this so called stop start game, Which is probably played far closer to its actual playing time than a game of football ever is, I can count on one hand the number of Giants games that i have attended where i think "what a load of carp", Whereas i can count half a dozen games every season watching Town where i think that was "carp", "Nothing happened", "boring",.
