Not entirely blaming the midfield, just fear SAF might believe that using a right back or a central defender as a midfielder is a good idea in some CL games because he needs to keep players fresh, which results in dropping points when it should have been an easy win.

I agree that at times our attitude was poor, but against really top class opposition, when we were up for it, we lacked quality in the middle.

We didn't lose the title against Newcastle away, or Blackburn at home, or even Wigan away and Everton at home.

We lost the title due to the results against City. Although the tactics were bizarre in the second game, we were dominated in midfield on both occasions.

Again far too simplistic. A point at Wigan would have been seen as a poor result at the time but would have made us champions. The results against City would have been forgotten in a flash, even the 6-1 as the title would have made that so.

But that's the past now......We have to look forward.
