With Enrique's form dipping in the second half of last season and not looking up to pace in the friendlies I fear that left back could be a potential weak spot next season. Although Robinson is a great prospect and should be good enough in the future we don't have a proper experienced left back as cover which may have contributed to Enrique's dip in form as he does not have to fight for his place as much as others.
With this in mind would you guys want another left back being bought in this window as either back up or first choice and if so who?

Enrique is a quality left back!
I remember when you lot reckoned he was the best LB in the prem, oh how I laughed. Baines and Cole are far superior.

He's a decent enough option until Robinson is ready. Imo Robinson will be a better player too.

Cole yes, Baines never for newcastle and the first half of last season for us hes been one of the best LBs in the league. He looks affected by something now though 2nd half and pre season hes got me worried.

Baines is a medium sized fish in a small pond. Looked lost for England.
Decent player.

I'd takes Baines over Enrique any day. I have a feeling that one of the loan players BR is looking at is a left back. Maybe Aly Cissoko?

I made a thread about this very issue prior to our first pre season game. I had my concerns about his style clashing with the managers two touch style of football.

I don't think left back will be a position that Rodgers prioritises at the moment.
Potentially it could be an issue if Enrique does not get a good level of form back but right now we have other more pressing issues. We have Flanagan, Johnson and even Agger and Kelly who can play left back if required after Robinson, so we have plenty of options (Johnson has always excelled when played on the left).
Watching Neil Taylor in the Olympics, who appears to be very composed, a good passer, capable of playing both left and right back, I would not be at all surprised if we try to sign him next summer, but not right now.

Your full of it. I don't remember Enrique's name in the prem team of the season. Baines has outshone every full- back in the prem for the last 18 months.

I didn't think Taylor looked very good for GB.
Although I heard he was better for club.

We're fine in the left back position. We have a quality experienced left-back as well as a great prospect coming through who shouldn't be hampered by a squad player in front of him. We also have Johnson who can play well at left-back and Kelly who can come in at right back. The defence and goalkeeping positions are fine.
