Testing times ahead

Well Chaps here we are, a total of 17 games played home, away and cups various this term and things are still, well let us say, variable.

We have ebbed and flowed more than a tide, but our spirits have also been tidal, away at Stoke was high tide and at home against Orient we were at our nadir, low tide, in fact lowest tide for some time.

Our manager it seems must find a player to blame and when not doing that aims one at the board, even when Wray was in the Chair. I felt sorry for Wray.

Now today, Friday, Canioman, cites that Villa is more important than Stevenage in the league. He is obviously hopeful of a Cup win and as such the monies will lift the transfer embargo on the club. Indeed it will, but will the board let him have access to the money for the loan players he so desperately wants. What if they say NO, whoops, they better buy some new dummies then , LOL.

So onwards to a terse and difficult time for our injury ravaged squad, Stevenage away, Villa home, Macclesfield here in the Cup and then just a few days later again at CG, old Foldy Arms man, none other than the infamous Waffler Wilson with his Sheffield side, currently doing a lot better than us. Allegedly also not one of Caniomans favourite people let alone respected managers. Canioman has admitted, no love lost there.

There is a BIG danger here I feel, four important games in the league and two Cups and each one a very serious potential banana skin. Stevenage flying well, Villa from the Prem, aware of how we play, Macclesfield, with absolutely nothing to loose, and Sheffield, a club that shouldn't be here in L1 with a manager who has history with our club, but also with our Canioman.

Should we continue to blow hot, cold and luke warm we could conceivably loose all four games. That doesn't bear thinking about, but if we do who is he going to blame and more importantly will our new Chairman tolerate it ?

Never dull at SN1 is it.

SF,
A good appraisal. Only one thing I disagree with.
How can Villa know how we play? We don't know ourselves!
I am getting a bit fed up with Di Canio blaming everyone but himself & seeming to give up the league in October.
If our forwards aren't good enough, well he wasted money signing them, which brought on the embargo.
How do we know that he won't just send good money after bad & get the same result?
No, he had all summer to sort the side out.
I reckon that we should stick with what we have got. If we fail, then he is responsible & we can fire him off justifiably.
What is the guy saying? Surely he knew when wanting the job, that finances of a club relegated to the bottom division, would be limited.
He exceeded that limit & bought players who, in his own comments, cannot do the job. Now, he wants more cash.
So, I question his ability to recognise a good player, & also his ability to coach what he has signed.
He also has the unhappy knack of upsetting his players.
But he is never wrong, but, if he is, it's always someone else's fault!

Red,

I have never entered into a name/ blame and shame culture, and I think, like you and many others, he is wrong to do so. However, I suspect one day, somebody will say, enough, and their reaction will get them put on the transfer list.

My main immediate concern though is the series of upcoming four games where our opponents have nothing to loose, Stevenage today, should be comfortable against us as they are high flying and playing well, Villa, well they are Premier league and with rafts of well decent players on their payroll, so we should not be a problem to them. Next up is Macclesfield, a big potential banana skin, we should get telephone numbers against them, but what makes me think if we loose against Villa Canioman will smash what remaining confidence we have left in training. Last but no means least, Wilson and his Sheffield Utd, he has a point to prove here. We could loose most of these games the way we are playing right now. I'll be well upset if we do, but we don't need another managerial change right now, better the devil you know, but he may decide otherwise. Very tricky situation, and I dont see the new Chairman being the same putty in his hands as what Wray was. Interesting times for sure, and all of that in two weeks or so. Blimmey, its a job to keep up.
