SF,
A good appraisal. Only one thing I disagree with.
How can Villa know how we play? We don't know ourselves!
I am getting a bit fed up with Di Canio blaming everyone but himself & seeming to give up the league in October.
If our forwards aren't good enough, well he wasted money signing them, which brought on the embargo.
How do we know that he won't just send good money after bad & get the same result?
No, he had all summer to sort the side out.
I reckon that we should stick with what we have got. If we fail, then he is responsible & we can fire him off justifiably.
What is the guy saying? Surely he knew when wanting the job, that finances of a club relegated to the bottom division, would be limited.
He exceeded that limit & bought players who, in his own comments, cannot do the job. Now, he wants more cash.
So, I question his ability to recognise a good player, & also his ability to coach what he has signed.
He also has the unhappy knack of upsetting his players.
But he is never wrong, but, if he is, it's always someone else's fault!
Red,
I have never entered into a name/ blame and shame culture, and I think, like you and many others, he is wrong to do so. However, I suspect one day, somebody will say, enough, and their reaction will get them put on the transfer list.
My main immediate concern though is the series of upcoming four games where our opponents have nothing to loose, Stevenage today, should be comfortable against us as they are high flying and playing well, Villa, well they are Premier league and with rafts of well decent players on their payroll, so we should not be a problem to them. Next up is Macclesfield, a big potential banana skin, we should get telephone numbers against them, but what makes me think if we loose against Villa Canioman will smash what remaining confidence we have left in training. Last but no means least, Wilson and his Sheffield Utd, he has a point to prove here. We could loose most of these games the way we are playing right now. I'll be well upset if we do, but we don't need another managerial change right now, better the devil you know, but he may decide otherwise. Very tricky situation, and I dont see the new Chairman being the same putty in his hands as what Wray was. Interesting times for sure, and all of that in two weeks or so. Blimmey, its a job to keep up.
Testing times ahead
