Thoughts?

Time to come in agent Chang....Operation Goodison is over.

How were FSG to know the power would go to his head and turn him into an egomaniac?!? Only the typical anti FSG whinge

Because they are the owners and the buck stops with them.
I heard they same weak defence of FSG over their appalling handling of the Dempsey saga, we lost out there partly due to them announcing he had already joined us for heavens sake. The apologists will say its not FSG but their sports network...the excuses run and run from Dempsey to Chang, to it being Ayres fault for no new signings.

ARE, are you serious?
You think we "lost out" on Dempsey? I'm pretty glad we didn't get him!
Yes, it was a mistake by a company that is something to do with FSG, but so what? What difference do you think it makes to anything or anyone?

"Because they are the owners and the buck stops with them."
An employer takes on an employee in good faith, based on their previous experience and CV.
The employee commits an act of gross mis conduct, and tarnishes the name of the employers business.
In your opinion it's the employers fault?
FSG aren't psychic. They weren't to know Chang would do what he did. They employed him in good faith. Since this all came out they've [the owners] conducted themselves correctly.
You say others 'can't see anything wrong with FSG', yet you can't see anything right with them, and are just waiting to say 'I told you so'.

Absolutely. Where is the proof that Chang was a good appointment? He knew nothing about football. Lived in the USA. (And still does incredibly) one thing FSG should have learnt from the get go it that they have no knowledge of football. The appointment never made sense in the first place.
BTW
As far as the buck stops here philosophy goes. If FSG won't take responsibility for the shambles then who will?

He was appointed as communications director. His knowledge of football wasn't a deciding factor in him getting the job. The fact that he worked at Sports Illustrated (which must mean he had some knowledge of the game) as a journalist meant he was able to communicate via social media etc.

The buck stops with Chang. He was the one that brought the club into disrepute. He was the one who met with, and threatened a fan. How do you absolve the perpetrator, but blame the employer?
FSG investigated the claims against Chang, and then got rid of him. What more do you expect from them?

The trouble is with this idea is it means we can be mismanaged time and time again and the owners will never be held responsible. They are in the game of sports ownership and making a profit depends on success on the field and off it.
As it happens I think FSG are learning and taking action quicker than they did, but they have been very slow catching on. Their policy at the moment on signings is debatable and the team is further of the pace than it was last season.
All the fans at Liverpool including you and me know the expectations and standards that we demand. I'm not sure the owners have figured it out yet.

Come on fella. An incident like the Chang one is rare. You have to admit that as an employee you have a responsibility to represent your employer in the best possible way. If you don't it reflects badly on your employer but does not make them responsible for your actions. The responsibility of the employer is to act accordingly, and ensure they are not reflected badly upon again by the employee, i.e. disciplinary action and/or dismissal.
FSG are finding their feet, as far as signings go. They spent a lot under Kenny and it didn't work out. You cant really blame them for being more cautious this time round. They've admitted that they've made mistakes, and that they're learning from them. Fair play to them for that.
We, as fans, have got expectations. But we need to learn to curb our enthusiasm and not expect us to rum before we can walk.

You certianly put a well reasoned argument up and I can agree with you on the fact that FSG are learning as they go along but are making progress.
Now BR is the manager they must back their judgement and all I'm hoping for is that they get the balance right between spending and making sure the club is solvent and moving forward financially. Not an easy task by any means.
Lets face it though the bottom line is we will all be shouting our heads off for the reds come the next game!
