No jealousy from me Tommy, I wouldn't want either player to be honest. Both crocks. We've enough of them on our books at the moment!

If we had an alleged cash injection of £8M and that was the best we could come up with I wouldn't be best pleased.

Yeah I appreciate that. You will find getting value tough in January also though, much like us. Now clubs know you're flush player values suddenly mysteriously rocket!

Always the case in January. Also if you look at last seasons top January transfers in the Championship the biggest signings were Billy Sharp to Southampton, Maynard and Vaz Te going to West Ham. Jason Roberts to Reading, Drinkwater, Marshall and Morgan to Leicester and Trippier to Burnley (who was already on loan before made permanent).

Three of the above sides were promoted, Leicester spent crazy money that season and with Pearson brought in would have fancied challenging the playoffs and as mentioned Trippier to midtable Burnley was determined by his earlier loan move.

If our form doesn't improve and any chance of the playoffs is effectively wrote off, crazy wages would have to be offered to attract anyone decent, unless you look in lower leagues/teams below you (Boyd at Posh for example).
