Daniel Levy and yesterdays game

Why on earth we haven't brought in another striker is beyond me, we have been crying out for 1 for Lord knows how long and Levy has to be blamed for this. Insanity is to repeat the same mistake again and again? Every damn season we struggle with goals towards the end because of no potency in the striking department for crying out loud.

Adebayor is a joke. Hard work for him is not a patch on what hard work is for Dawson or even Walker....both I thought were absolute heroes yesterday! Walker deserves more credit than he has been getting for yesterday. Adebayor has no technical ability, time after time his skill fails him and he has not a clue about taking on someone. His passing is awful also and so was his challenges, he couldn't win a damn thing yesterday and every time he had the ball nothing really came of it apart from losing it. No comment on that donkey penalty?

Huddlestone changed the game big time once again his touches and passing was different class. Tom Carroll worked exceptionally hard as did Siggy and was impressed by both.

Two things were obvious:

1. We were never going to win the penalty shootout.
2. We had no one to come off the bench to change things.

Unfortunately as a club we are making the same mistake as Arsenal and are not investing in players where we need to and crucially this will make decisions for our best players (Bale) to leave that much more easier. We finally after years have the chance to overhaul Arsenal and become regular top 4 outlets but fail to learn by their mistake and invest to keep our squad strong.

So what happens if we fail for top 4 and Bale goes? No good players will want to come to us and we are left with deadwood to take into the new season. Hmm.

Chicken, I'm sorry and am maybe wrong, but until shown evidence to the contrary, I reckon AVB was told v early on he has to make do with what we have striker-wise. Of course he would have liked £25m on the table for a top striker, what manager wouldn't.

I think Chronic is either Levy, Levy's right hand man or Levy's relative.......it is blantantly obvious to all Spurs fans and has been since Berba and Keane played up front for us a few years ago now that we seriously lack in strikeforce. Levy sold Berba and failed to replace him since. Ade =
Defoe mostly this season = too.
Really p1sses me off that we have the worst strikers in the top half of the league, year after year our goal difference takes a point off us when points are equal.
Sort it Levy if you do read this forum!

-------

yes we do need a striker.

however stop deluding yourself that it is the answer to all our problems.

we manage to score at least 2 goals in most matches.

unfortunately we concede too many.

AVB openly admitted he didnt want any more strikers as he planned to onlly use one up front anyway. There are quotes floating around to this effect.

There almost certainly are Chicken, but I don't believe this was his actual stance. If he came out and said we needed a striker and we didn't get one then...

Not sure we can believe the quotes he provides for the papers. It's his actions that speak louder and the move for Damiao, however unlikely, point towards wanting one.

the reality is that none of us know what really happened between avb/levy with regard to us getting a striker... we are merely going off what avb has come out and said, and tbh, not sure what we expected him to say... doubt levy would take too kindly to a manager putting pressure on him in public, and i reckon levy told him that when he gave him the job

flashy,

Its this same old thing i always say, if things are written that you like, like there being a a great team spirit within the club - then it must be true. But if there's quotes someone dont want to believe, like AVB openly admitting he didnt want another striker, all of a sudden its speculated that he didn't mean it.

If he didnt mean it, then he shouldnt be such a soft touch and say it then - because you dont earn respect for being a wet lettuce.

I dont want a pansy incharge of the team - i want a forceful figure that players respect. If you want another striker, dont ar-se the chairman & claim you dont. Or better still, dont say anything about it at all.

I agree Chicken. To an extent. People are often blinded to stuff they don't want to hear / read as it doesn't suit their opinion. But in this instance, transfers, I'm v happy for him to feed any old sh1tt to the media but his actions are what I'll base my judgement on.
