DJ, MM will only manage in the Premiership again if and it's a bleedin' big if, he gets Ipswich promoted.
My prediction for next years Championship doesn't include Ipswich in the promotion race. There are big clubs coming down with money to spend, so MM will more than likely fade into obscurity with Ipswich.
When will you and others get to realize his potential? That is, Championship football at the least.
Plus the fact that when Trapattoni leaves the Rep. of I. job, MM will be in the frame when Ipswich aren't doing that well.
Remember this, you heard it here first from a wily old wolf.

They face some big changes in the summer.
Their wage bill is currently very close to 100% of turnover and that will need to be reduced but even so I think they will be challenging for a playoff place and if they can manage that while competing against teams that have parachute payments then i think MM will be judged a success there. After all it’s been a decade since they finished in the playoffs.
Next season will reveal all and i look forward to revisiting this thread on a regular basis.

it was tongue in cheek a little ulf
I fully expect them to be top six, but i did fully expect them to be top six last season after the efforts they made in the summer.
Higginbotham, luongo, ndaw, dj campbell, reo coker to name a few

That was weird that, what actually happened with Reo-Coker?
I read somewhere that he took an astronomical wage cut to play in the MLS, down to something like £130,000 a year.

Keep trying to devalue what McCarthy has done for Ipswich cinci. Its good for a laugh if nothing else. He has given them their best run of results for years but you tried so hard to get people to focus on those couple of thrashings he got early on. Hope he has a poor season next year to give your opinions an ounce of credibility.

Personally Cinci I think you’ve always made too much of the quality available at Ipswich and I’ve always thought that was an attempt by you to downplay MM’s achievements there but that’s beside the point.
What happens next season is now the high stakes game with Sunny’s reputation firmly on the line.

Really dj, i hope he gets them promoted.
I put money on them tats, my mistake lol, my point always was that they were nowhere near as bad as their start suggested.#
As for reo coker ulf....living the dream

Don’t disagree with you there Cinci, i think they had a good solid top half squad just not the nailed on for promotion squad you think they had.
Anyway last season is gone, it’s the forthcoming one that’s going to be interesting.

my money will be on them for sure, will be intersting to see what the handicap will be.
Anything over 12 points will be worth a punt.

DJ Campbell ???
Fact is Championship was the poorest standard for many years last year - even Cardiff managed not to bottle it this time!
Ipswich should do better next year but fringes of playoffs only in my opinion.

I agree, it was a poor division overall
