FOOTBALL TRANSFERS

According to Transfer Markt well over £1 billion has been spent sofar by European Clubs during the current transfer period.

£208 Million has been spent by EPL clubs.

Only two clubs in EPL have not spent so far a penny. One is Everton. Guess who the other is. Yes its is Arsenal.

That says everything about Arsenal's transfer planning particularly since
we are playing next week matches in the Far East.

Signing on fees are not included in the table and nor are costs incurred when you release a player from a contract.

Personally I doubt that Sanogo received a signing on fee, although Auxerre may receive some compensation. However, that makes hardly any dent
in the figures published.

Henrik's transfer thread is the Apple of transfer threads. Except I have actually commented on it. Would never comment on/buy Apple stuff.

I heard Arsenal spent a few hundred quid on transfers last week.

The kids in that primary school will be delighted with their Arsenal FC car stickers...

Everton have just signed Kone, there goes that statement

Everton have indeed sealed Kone's deal. What a laughing stock we have become in the transfer market.

What concerns me about the whole Arsenal strategy
leaving aside newspaper rumours most of which are probably untrue is the lack of a coherent strategy.

I am sure that Arsenal plan to bring in a new goalkeeper to replace Mannone assuming that Martinez is not promoted.

We need a fourth string centre back now that Squillaci
has been released and Djourou has been loaned out.

We need a defensive/box to box midfielder. This has been a priority since departure of Song especially since you cannot rely on Diaby.

We need a goalscoring striker. For all the rhetoric and
Real Madrid shinnanigans this should have been sorted at least 2 weeks ago.The striking options apart
from Higuain available on market are limited.

Apart from these positions we need at least 1 additional 'filler' in squad to replace Coquelin who has
now been loaned. This could be of course a promotion from reserves.
