So how money do we have to spend?

Europe TV & Prize money = £22m

Wanyama = £12.5m

Hooper = £5.5m

Total income = £40 million

So far we've spent £4.4 million on Virgil van Dijk and Balde. I don't expect us to be spending a lot more but its very likely that our squad will be worse than last season. I really hope Lennon isn't held back from buying some promising players before the qualifiers.

Piffle totally agree

"Where is the 36 mill spare going?"

if we didnt have champions league football we would be operating at a loss , i think the chunk of it will go to protecting the fact that this may happen

If we get to the group stages , i would suspect we would put some of it back into the team

we always do that , we always just think what we get in we must spend on players but that structure has been blown out the water in recent years and it just doesnt make sense to do it anymore

Attendances were down, whats worrying we go out of europe I think it will be a even bigger hit this season as fans will anger with there feet and stay away.

Fans are nit stupid we know how much we have made we have sold our best two players, plus pistol must know say we make the group stages again then we make money from TV revenue and plus full grounds so for me a no brainer, I just worry the biscut tin is back at parkhead again

You are right. He won't spend big when we can't recoup it from Champs League and we would return to being in debt.

Will it be boring if we don't have Europe? - Yes

However I'd like to still have a club that will be back in Europe the next year and still on a stable footing while we still convincingly win the league.

The club would state the dont need Europe or transfers to run

18 mill in season books (mostly from Ginger )
Prize money
New strip sales
Updated strip sponsorship
TV money
Stadium advertising

He may wish to buy the stadium back from the co op Bank

Who knows but some money is missing.

I hear your point but last year fans stayed away as hate to say it the SPL is a bore without our main rivals there is no excitment, some other people on here might not like it but its the truth. we were rank rotten in the league last season and still won by a canter.

This season I am sure for some games fans will go back but trust me allot more will stay away. Europe is the only think fans want as that is competitve and we know its not a given like the SPL cocky arrogant but the truth

I think they budget for the season with the Europa group stages included so anything over and above that is a bonus

The money isnt missing duke, it sits there as financial security , you dont need to blow it to win the SPL

Duke, I cant speak for RAngers but I am sure you have felt at sometime the real problem is the clubs take us for idiots who couldn't understand the finacial issues at stake

All clubs have to do is have a decent level of transparancy that allow the fans, the fans who make or break a club, to have enough info to make a balanced assessment of what the custodians of our clubs are actually doing with OUR cash

Yes I agree.

You dont need it for the SPL and would spending another 10 mill be sure to get you the group stages?

If you spent it and then still go out in Sweden Im sure DD would have something to say.
Yet having not spent it the fans will not be happy if you go out in Sweden

But then you guys are all accountants so they should trust you

Recent events have shown that fiscal prudence is required.
Celtic are showing this but what will the impact on the fan base be?

We have people saying we should have sold Hooper in january yet these are the same guys who would have been the first ones to criticise such a move
