Straight up question, genuinely not wumming - just want to get your opinions on who you think you'll buy in order to replace Rooney (assuming he leaves)?
Do you replace him? Or play Kagawa behind RVP?
Who will cover RVP in the event of injury?
What players are available realistically?
Who would you replace Rooney with?

I don't want him to go to Chelsea, the fact is there really aren't many options available.
I still think he has something to offer us but he really needs to knuckle down and prove his worth on the pitch and get into shape. I don't particularly like the guy but I'm will to give him another chance for the good of the team. He clearly wants to leave an if you don't think so then you're in denial. Why doesn't he come out and say he wants to stay and work hard?
-------------------------------
Agree with everything you have put there, including the fact I think Rooney is a cretin
I've given my reasons why I think Roo has stayed stum and that is because he has been told too. If Roo says he never wanted to leave and is totally commited, the press will move onto Sir Alex is a liar strores
My head is telling me Roo probably does want to leave now, and that has only happened in the last few weeks because, as usual, the press will not let go of Roo and I can;t see him walking out at OT without a chorus of boos, thenks to the relentless bollox that has been spoken about by the press, with the main one being the Moyes comments about Rooney 'playing second fiddle to RVP' (which in no way did he say btw) and the reports the Rooney camp were unhappy with the way the MEDIA had interpreted it
The MEDIA then reported incorrectly that Roo was angry with Moyes when in fact it was clearly only the press
The media wont stop until they get their boos and I for one aint falling for it
I still say we will not sell him to Chelsea and if we do, I would seriously have reservations about the new regime running the club
United don't weaken themselves and strengthen a rival at the same time no matter what
I'm still open minded until I hear something that hasn't been initiated in a redtop but I fear Wayne will feel his position is now untenable at United because unfortunately in this counrty, there are too many fans that see The Sun as a football bible and the boos are now pretty much inevitable.

So your head is telling you that Rooney only wants to leave after how the Sun newspaper is driving him away from United rather than Sir Alex explicitly stating that Rooney wanted to leave as far back as May?
Wow. I hope you get Rooney gets you a nice anniversary present this year Colleen.

I'm all for giving Kagawa the opportunity to shine as an attacking midfielder next season.
We need to develop more of a team ethic and we can only do that by keeping a settled lineup.
People are looking too much at next season and not the long term. Kagawa hasn't shown he can replicate Rooney's numbers in a United shirt as he's not really had the chance and we haven't been playing the type of football to get the best from him.
Hopefully these may come next season and even more so in the future. For me that's why replacing Rooney with someone that can do what Rooney does is pointless - as all people are doing is scouring around for a player that can play in numerous positions and get big numbers. And to Rooney's credit, these are not all that common.

I think you are living in denial tbh. All the evidence suggests he has wanted to leave all along, just as SAF said in the first place.

Misty
Accusing me of living in denial
Disagree all you want. That's fine. We do actually agree on alot of things but don't accuse me of being in denial and not expect a retort k?. Because I aint. I'm keeping an open mind because most of what we have heard has been press driven.
Just because my opinion differs from your doesn't mean I'm living in denial
Fair enough?

My comment wasn't intended as an insult. Apologies if it offended you - I genuinely couldn't work out what you were upset about.
